Anyone want to give this a shot? I have to admit that I did not follow spring at all, nor did I watch the A-Day game. I get terribly busy during the spring. I'd be interested to see from those of you who did, what you feel the first string on the depth chart will look like.

Ok I'll actually try because it's lunch and I don't wanna look at this excel file anymore while I eat

OFFENSE

It's on point.. this is the likely depth chart heading into the fall camp.

Few things to note:
QB - Bryce Young
RB - Jahmyr Gibbs, Trey Sanders/Jase McClellan
WR-X - Jermaine Burton, Aaron Anderson
WR-Z - Ja'Corey Brooks, Tyler Harrell
WR-H - Christian Leary, JoJo Earle

Earle/Leary..... That's a battle to watch.. they could rotate in and out. Harrell is likely to start, but where? I think Brooks and Harrell gonna battle it out.

OLB - Will Anderson, Chris Braswell
ILB - Jaylen Moody, Deontae Lawson
ILB - Henry To'oTo'o, Deontae Lawson
OLB - Dallas Turner, Jeremiah Alexander
CB - Kool-Aid McKinstry, Khyree Jackson
CB - Eli Ricks
FS - DeMarco Hellams, Terrian Arnold
SS - Jordan Battle, Kristian Story
STAR - Brian Branch, Malachi Moore

LB- remember what we heard about Braswell, Anderson and Turner together on the field.

CB-Jackson is actually frontrunner and Ricks is practicing with second team right now.
So I think Kool Aid and Jackson is starting. Ricks will see playing time.

That defense should be nasty from the word go. Loaded with talent, experience and depth at all 3 levels. No excuses.

Need some olinemen and a couple WR to take a big step forward to make this a potential great/NC team.

QB - Jalen Milroe

I’m not even kidding but if he can catch he could play WR or Safety. He is like top end speed fast.

I do love we have a good looking backup.

I wonder if any of the summer enrollees can make an impact. Someone like Amari Niblack or Isaiah Bond. Also hope that some of the interior defensive linemen step up. If those guys can be disruptive then this defense can be absolutely elite. I really liked what I saw from Leary the other day. He's fast and looked to have sure hands.

I can see Milroe definitely earning some play’s. Similar to Lamar Jackson.

Isaiah Bond is a different type of fast! When he runs it looks very effortless...

I could see him in the slot or as an outside receiver.

That’s dumb. He’s not seeing the field over our returning Heisman winning QB outside of mop up duty.

Question for you guys. Where is Ian Jackson on the depth chart right now? Or at least the expectation?

Haven't heard much about him (to be fair, post-COVID we don't hear much of anything anymore), but our ILB room has had a bunch of upperclassmen the last few years (Harris, HTT, Moody) and the kids his age haven't really been discussed much.

He's in a group of 3-4 other ILB (Shawn Murphy, Demouy Kennedy, Kendrick Blackshire) who will have a chance to take over the spot opposite Deontae Lawson next season.

He played a lot for the 1st team defense during the A-Day game.

I was surprised, but given my son played with him before we move to Texas I was looking out for him. He looked good, undersized, but good.

But Saban did hint that there could be a role for Milroe and his “very unique skillset” even if Young remains healthy again this season. “There’s no question about the fact that if you were going to take advantage of his athleticism, you would have some -- I don’t know if you want to call them special plays or whatever -- that would take advantage of his ability,” Saban told WJOX.

Sounds like he may see a little more than just mop up duty. Does that make Saban dumb?

I've been saying this dude is Cam Newton. Give me a better comparison for his skill set. There isn't one.

If only Milroe was 6-5, 245. He's a great athlete no doubt but I'm really interested to see how the staff utilizes his talent.

I think he's a bit bigger than the 6'2 212 they have him listed at. Seeing the contrast between him and Bryce probably makes him look a little bigger too.
