Naaaaaaaahhh.

In January, 98% of this board told the few of us who understand what we’re watching that because Saban didn’t get rid of him that Golding is the greatest defensive coordinator in the history of the universe and that the only reason he consistently sucked for 2 straight years is because muh injuries, and muh young team, and muh the there wasn’t enough rain on the second Tuesday of August and whatever other excuses (and there were MANY) people could come up with.

Golding Groupies. This is their love baby. This is what they wanted.

I hope they don’t now come to this thread to gripe about their crush.

That fricking blitz on 3rd and long

I’m used to seeing that shite with the old historically bad Saints defenses. Alabama’s shouldn’t be this lost and slow.

Here’s some excuses from the sunshine pumpers over on the Bama sub Reddit:

quote:

I don't really want to get into this argument again, but man, at some point, it does not matter what plays the coordinator is calling if the guys are missing tackles, blowing assignments, and just losing their battles. That ain't on the coordinator.

Hey guys, everything's fine with Golding. Our 4 and 5 star talent just can't tackle or they're too slow to play Power 5 football.

Amirite?

According to some people, it’s not coaches fault at all if the players are busting coverages, missing tackles, and just looking lost. I thought it was part of their job to make sure the players are well-prepared and playing disciplined. Guess not

Not me. He can’t earn my trust.

Also, we’re playing Southern Miss next week, so the defense better not look this bad.

I don't like Golding either, but who's gonna take over his job as DC/ILBs coach, if he's fired mid-season?

2021 Fire Pete Golding thread

Shouldn't this be a Fire Nick Saban thread?

Since ultimately his hiring and retention is his responsibility?

IDGAF about Golding and haven't been happy that the world has changed and defenses aren't the same as they used to be.

So I'll go with guys on the internet over the greatest coach of all time. FIRE HIS arse!!!

I said it in another thread. Golding has the keys to a Lamborghini and is driving it like a soccer mom, carpooling to practice after an elementary school pickup.

ATTACK! CONTEST EVERY PLAY! Stop sitting back on your heels and handing out orange slices.

I miss Pruitt calling the defense

It is 100% the scheme. 3rd and 10 from the goal line. 3rd and 17 at minefield yo an easy 4th and 1. 3rd and 7 and playing safety over the TE 10 yards downfield. Pitch and catch repeatedly underneath. Easy throws for a QB who is inaccurate downfield, but just continuously giving him wide open guys underneath. It was just flat out painful.
