Yeah...the pitch to Pollack was a good pitch that found a hole. Bellingers was 97 at his eyes.
Just Braves/Georgia sports luck

frick that.
If LJ pitches in game 4 with anything other than a 40 run deficit, I'm driving to L.A. and throwing him in the trunk of my car.

Red Sox had a golden opportunity to go up 3-1 and couldn't get anything going against a patchwork Astros pitching group. And now the Astros have put up a 7 spot in the 9th, about to be tied 2-2.
Two insane series so far.

The Red Sox are imploding.
Good Lord.

The point isn't that Bellinger hit that homerun.
The point is that Snit was too worried about a fricking bullpen game in game 4 to win game 3 with his bullpen.
If the Braves are up 3-0, Snit could start game 4. WGAF??
He'd be up 3-0.
Let Ynoa pitch. Let the ball boy pitch. Snit has shite for brains. Even if the unthinkable happens (which isn't a guarantee- Bryse Wilson gave up 1 run over 6 innings in Game 4 last year) in Game 4 Fried is pitching Game 5.
Snit. Is. The. Worst.

I’m as big a Luke Jackson hater as anyone but he has been solid this year.
The Matzek-Luke-Smith thing has worked so far this postseason. Luke made great pitches they just got hit.

Jackson has NO BUSINESS pitching the 8th.
He's a nothing ball pitcher that should only pitch mop up innings. If anyone gets on base at any time while he pitches, he melts.
He. Sucks.
Starter goes 5.
Chevez or anyone but Jackson 6.
Starter goes 6
Minter 7 or 8
Matzek 7 or 8
Smith 9
Matzek should've pitched the 7th. No question. He was filthy. Either that or Minter should've pitched the 7th and Matzek the 8th.
Camargo struck out on like 4 pitches. Matzek could've done that.
Matzek or Minter should've pitched 2 innings or a combination.
Moral of the story:
Jackson should be driving the trash truck.
That's it.

Not mad at Luke at all. None of those 3 pitches were bad.
You know man, that's the thing with Luke- if you go back to last season he got his arse handed to him even though his spin rate on his slider was elite... it didn't make any sense. He gets what looks to be an elite bite on his curveball which is backed by his spin rate data but for whatever reason batters pick the ball up out of his hand very well. My best guess is something about his delivery makes the ball very easy to pick up for mlb batters. I dunno it's unexplainable BUT it's real and it's trackable.
If you're the manager you gotta know sometimes luke is gonna get knocked around. They said there was very little humidity there yesterday which could definitely affect a guy that depends on grip/spin rate to have his best stuff.
If I have five outs to get and a three run lead to almost assuredly get into the world series I fricking promise you I'd have three pitchers warming up at all times until the game concluded. If I even got a whiff of someone trying to blow the game my arse is out there with the hook ASAP, and I'm definitely not letting a LHB face my RHP with two baserunners on... AND I'M DAMN SURE NOT PITCHING TO THE HOTTEST PLAYER ON EARTH WITH A frickING BASE OPEN. Ineptitude on full display. Braves will never win a world series with snit unless it's divine intervention. He's simply in over his head.

This guy gets it. ^
You've got a three run lead and six outs to get- you've got to manage the game like game 7 of the world series all hands on deck. You could argue it would have been worth it to warm Fried up in the 6th, and let him pitch three innings because going up 3-0 gives you a 98% chance of winning the series. Who gives a shite who pitches game 4. Winning game three would have been the boot on their throats.
*Edit- I'm not suggesting they should have warmed Fried up, I'm simply making the point that if they did you really couldn't argue against it because winning game three was so important I could see the logic in the decision. I would have been fine with it even if he blew the game, and we lost him for game four. I would lean towards going all in to win game three- ride or die. Lets face it that was what it was going to take for the Braves to win a series vs the Dodgers. Someone should let snit know.

where were these posts during the 5 games he pitched the braves won in the playoffs? Yea, revisionist history is great.
It's baseball, shite happens.

Does anyone know if Snit explained why he pitched to the hottest player on earth/MVP with a base open ? I turned the tv off immediately after the game last night, and I'm not watching any sportscenter until there is a new news cycle. That was one of the hardest losses I've ever witnessed to stomach, and I've been a Bravo for a loooong time. We went from world series bound to probably going to lose in one horrifically managed 8th inning.

Pick your poison. Have you seen what Seager has done to Atlanta pitching?

Jackson had been pitching well too. But there’s always second guessing in high pressure situations that go south. Matzek was dealing but due up second in the order in the 9th.

Ok, I pick anyone other than the other teams best player who also happens to be the hottest player on their team. I'd rather get beat by ANYONE other than him. That's my pick.

Just agree to disagree. We’ve seen Seager eat us up in high leverage situations.

I mean Luke has been fvckin nails all season long - both in results and metrics. He wasn't getting knocked around at that point in the inning - he'd given up a end of the bat dick slapper and a ground ball that founds eyes. He'd just beat Bellinger up on a pitch that Bellinger hasn't hit in a year. Dude just guessed right and has the physical talent to do what he did when he guesses right. I mean it's a typical "holy shite how did that happen" event for us in the playoffs, but I can't blame Snit for it (and I love to blame Snit for shite). The Dodgers just made shite happen. They won 106 games for a reason.
I hated bringing Chavez in after that, though. However, I'm not sure what the alternative at that point was. Probably Chris Martin or Jacob Webb, and I'm not sure either of those is any better.
The fact that we couldn't scratch out a run in 2 innings vs Evan Phillips/Tony Gonsolin is as big a gut punch as the home run was. We had a bunch of shots to extend that lead to 4 or 5 runs and we couldn't do it.

Don’t have hope for tonight’s game. Ynoa scratched and removed from NLCS roster. Chavez to start.

If we do somehow win tonight do we push Fried back to Game 6 so we have Fried and Morton going at home?
