Kid had a 1.700 ops vs STL that series. I can forgive a mental lapse.

Awesome. I can forgive youth and stupidity.

What was his OPS while he was sitting on the bench after getting yanked? How many runs did he drive in during those innings?

You talking about a mid season series vs the dodgers? Both of these incidents were 2 years ago. You seem giddy about the fact that Acuna tore his ACL trying to make a play and had to watch his team win the world series on the bench.

Does he not play the game the way you like? How pissed were you when Soler pimped that homerun last night.

some cool tidbits:
quote:

The celebration at Minute Maid differed by the square foot. In one area, Pederson was running up to Terry McGuirk, the Braves' chairman, and yelling: "We're going to f---ing Augusta! Hell yeah! I fricking told you." McGuirk, a member at Augusta National, had told players that if they win a World Series, he can swing getting them a tee time.

quote:

AT HIS HOME in Buckhead, Anthopoulos put his children to bed at 8:30 p.m. ET, retreated to his couch and watched the team he constructed in the same way as millions of others: on TV. Anthopoulos tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. He had a little stuffy nose, took a test and was crestfallen by the result. Anthopoulos was fully vaccinated, but he knew he would need to quarantine at home.

Braves GM tests positive, misses Series clinched

Just past 9 p.m., Soler hit Garcia's final pitch of the night out of the stadium. Anthopoulos screamed. His 11-year-old daughter, Julia, came downstairs. The yelp woke her up.

Anthopoulos and his wife, Cristina, decided to let her stay up. In the eighth inning, they brought their 9-year-old son, John, down to watch. If Anthopoulos took anything away from the 2021 Atlanta Braves, it's to do things with people you love. So they started counting down the outs, like it was a New Year's Eve party and the ball was dropping.

The best part of this World Series is we don’t have to glorify that prick David Justice anymore

I’m not an Atlanta sports guy at all, and I root against all of their teams, but you guys deserve this. Congratulations

Thanks Cobra...
MLB is truly a marathon.
The Braves didn't get over.500 till August 6th.
No World Series winner in history has ever taken as long as the Braves did to get above .500
Few key trades at the end of July. Eventually gaining team chemistry. Became the hottest team going into the playoffs. Thus becoming World Series Champions.
Feels great saying that. Also, with MLB humiliating Atlanta, pulling the All Star Game out over something petty.

We added Duvall, Pederson, Solar, Rosario before or at the trade deadline.
All 4 outfielders making HUGE playoff contributions in winning the World Series.
Do y'all think we still win it all with Acuna/Ozuna/Heredia?

I would like us to keep Duvall, Soler, Rosario, and Acuna. Then keep Heredia as our bench guy. I don't think we can justify keeping Pederson as a bench player with his salary and Heredia has a salary of about 500k.

I also don't think the Braves will have anything to do with Ozuna. They will have to eat part of his contract, but his is just not the type guy the Braves organization wants around and if it comes down to him or Soler being a DH, well we know who that would be!

Just one of the coolest damn stories I've ever read - and with pictorial evidence

I read that one earlier today. That dude officially has the coolest fan story in history. I don't think anything can beat crashing your favorite team's World Series victory party and being straight up welcomed with open arms by all the players.

He’s a good guy, too! Went to Bama with him, though I didn’t know him super well. Really cool to read a story like that and recognize the guy

I really don't see how anyone who's just a everyman fan of any professional sports team could top that story. Absolutely the coolest thing ever.
