Why Bama RB commit isn’t playing in Under Armour All-America Game

A knee injury apparently prevented Alabama running back commit Keilan Robinson from reporting for the 2018 Under Armour All-American Game on Saturday in Orlando, Florida, and will keep him out of next week's game.

Defensive end Tre’Mon Morris-Brash, Robinson’s teammate at St. John’s College High in Washington, D.C. who is playing in the national all-star game, said the running back is still recovering from a knee injury suffered during the season.

"He'll be fine," Morris-Brash said.

Robinson suffered an apparent knee injury during an Oct. 12 game against Good Counsel (Md.), The Washington Post reported, and Morris-Brash said Robinson "only played like three games" in 2018 because of injuries.

Robinson ran six times for 30 yards against Hoover on Aug. 31, but the game was stopped and postponed by lightning. When the game resumed the next day, Robinson did not dress. Morris-Brash said his teammate missed most of the Hoover game with a hamstring injury.

Morris-Brash praised Robinson’s acceleration and elusiveness and also need just a few words to explain what makes his teammate special. “He runs like a 4.3 40 (yard dash),” Morris-Brash said.

The 5-foot-9, 184-pound Robinson is one of three Alabama commitments who did not sign on Dec. 19, apparently waiting until the traditional February signing date. despite making a visit to Alabama in early December.

I have to do deep lower back and hip stretches before I work out.

The damage from football ain't no joke and it isn't just CTE.

Take Two: Are five-stars Jarrett and Sherman a package deal?
quote:

Rakim Jarrett

Take Two returns with a daily offering tackling an issue in the college football landscape. Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Adam Gorney lays out the situation and then receives takes from Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell and an expert from the Rivals.com network of team sites or regional analyst.

THE STORYLINE

Rakim Jarrett is a five-star receiver and the second-best player at his position. Mekhail Sherman is a five-star outside linebacker at the second-best player at his position.

Both play at powerhouse Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College High. So the question becomes will Jarrett and Sherman be a package deal in college and does Ohio State have the best shot at landing the two elite prospects in the 2020 class.

When it comes to Sherman, who trails only Upland, Calif., standout Justin Flowe in the outside linebacker rankings, it seems like the Buckeyes are right there with Georgia. Those two programs have emerged early and it could be a two-team battle to the end although others are in the mix.

Jarrett’s recruitment is a little more unclear. Trailing only Catawissa (Pa.) Southern Columbia recruit Julian Fleming in the receiver rankings, Ohio State has always been a top school for the five-star standout from Washington, D.C., but a massive Southeast tour could have muddied the waters. Clemson is in it. So is Tennessee and many other SEC programs.

Sherman and Jarrett are both five-star prospects who play at the same school. Are they a package deal or will the two superstars do their own thing when it comes to the recruiting process?

FIRST TAKE: ADAM FRIEDMAN, MID-ATLANTIC RECRUITING ANALYST

“They’re not a package deal at all. The only school both of them could end up at is probably Ohio State. Ohio State is running second behind Georgia for Sherman and they’re not giving up at all. With Jarrett, his situation is a little bit more fluid. Tennessee and Clemson have some momentum, Ohio State is always there. That one is still a little bit more up in the air.

“They’re not a package deal because they’re probably going to do their own thing. They’re not going to go to a specific school because the other one is going there, that’s not their mindset.”

SECOND TAKE: MIKE FARRELL, NATIONAL RECRUITING DIRECTOR

“I don’t think they’re a package deal. Jarrett likes Ohio State and always has. He’s taking a big tour in the Southeast so he’s aggressively looking at other schools and he wants to make an early decision. Sherman is a little quieter, harder to read. I projected Ohio State for him as well but I don’t think it’s as much as a lead as they have for Jarrett.

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they ended up at different places. The last time Ohio State went into Maryland and got a package deal, a guy named Dwayne Haskins was involved, so they can recruit at the highest level. They will get one of them at least, I’m pretty sure."

Four-Star Friday: Arian Smith, Traeshon Holden among the bumps (247Sports | segments)
quote:

247Sports was busy last weekend. Among the events with a heavy 247Sports presence were the Adidas 7on7 National Championship in Tampa, Fla., the Under Armour Atlanta Regional, The Opening Ohio Regional and — yep — even a European combine in Amsterdam. Below are the class of 2020 rankings moves in the that registered on the four-star scale from the weekend.

Traeshon Holden, WR – Holden was one of the top performers at the Adidas event over the weekend showcasing really good separation ability, ball skills, and feel at wide receiver. His size at 6'3" is a matchup problem and for him to add the separation skills and catch-in-traffic ability that popped to our analysts on the ground, it shapes the Alabama commit into a ‘never covered’ kind of target for a quarterback.

The move: Already ranked inside the Top 200, Holden’s performance was worth edging him up into the Top 150 bumping his rating from a 92 grade up to a 93.

Is his commitment day early? If not why the super early OV?

Hopefully we make a big enough lasting impression...
