The Jeffrey Carter thing with Rivals has spun into the realm of the bizarre. They are lucky the industry is so fast pace, subjective, and people are starved for info or thier credibility would be completely shot. I've always taken the dislike for them from Bama fans with a grain of salt, but between JC and the fake recruit they made a 3 star they might as well cover recruiting for the Daily Planet. Kid out of Smallville might be the best recruit in the solar system says Rival Recruiting Director Mike Farrell.

Five-star tight end Darnell Washington forging his own path
5-star TE Darnell Washington 6-7/255 NV hudl

NORWALK, CA - Darnell Washington traveled all the way from Las Vegas to Southern California for the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp presented by adidas last weekend. And he forgot his cleats.
So the five-star tight end and Las Vegas Desert Pines assistant head coach David Hill hopped back in the car right before the event, drove to a store to pick up a replacement pair and then Washington returned at the beginning of the camp and dominated.
That’s nothing new. The 6-foot-7, 255-pound Washington is one of only nine tight ends in Rivals history dating back to 2002 who have achieved five-star status. It’s a rare accomplishment but fitting for Washington since he’s such a unique prospect. . . . (more)

As the new kid on the block here I have a question about assigning recruiters to recruits. I understand correctly that for the primary recruiters this is usually done by region where they have the most recruiting ties (high schools, high school coaches, etc.). For example: Locksley handled the DMV area, Tosh did California, Joe Pannunzio had South Florida, etc. Correct? Are there any exceptions to this rule?
And for the secondary recruiter: is this usually the position coach?
Do the respective coordinators have a special role in recruiting or not?
I assume one of the exceptions to the rule could be that you may want to assign your best recruites to certain (special) players, but perhaps not as primary recruiters because if they don't have any affinity with the area, the high school coaches, etc. it may not work?
