he has been to Bama many times, this time his family came too; is planning on return visits, followed up the Bama visit by stopping by Uga

quote:

“It was really good getting down there, getting my family down there for the first time,” “My mom just really wanted to go meet the coaches and stuff and look at the academic program. ... My dad’s first time down there, he really enjoyed it. ...

247-UGA's Rusty Mansell is like 247-BOL's Tim Watts. They're actually good friends too. It was Rusty who interviewed Gilbert after the visits and he also wrote an article. Hank's BOL article used quotes from Rusty's interview.

In Rusty's article, Gilbert talked like UGA being his home state school is a factor, but not like it's a killer for Bama's chances. Gilbert said he and his parents visited both schools to get to know their coaches better, since both had some staff turnover. (UGA promoted Coley to OC and has a new TE coach. Bama hired Sark as OC and still has Banks coaching TEs.) Gilbert just said basic positive things about both visits, schools, staffs, programs, etc. and talked like he's open to both.

It's interesting that Hank (BOL) CBd Gilbert to UGA last Summer, but only one UGA mod has CBd him to UGA and Rusty's CB pick is Cloudy.

That inside the 20 stat can turn out to be BS. If you recall Delong was given credit this past A-Day for kicks inside the 20 but the real story was he doesn't have enough leg to even reach the endzone.

I keep hoping the kid from Meridian, Ms gets a PWO SPOT his average in HS is at least 10 yds better than the other punters offered.

Elite West Coast players discuss unstable coaching situation at USC (Rivals)
quote:

Five-star Kelee Ringo

NORWALK, CA – Justin Flowe is the kind of prospect that, not so long ago, would have almost undoubtedly landed at USC. A five-star linebacker that grew up in Southern California, Flowe is the very foundation on which the Trojans built a blueblood football program. These days, however, the No. 3 prospect in America is a skeptic just like everyone else. Will he eventually land at USC? Possibly, but he certainly isn’t itching to sign on the dotted line as things stand. . . (more)

He seems to have a serious problem with his shoulder. They said he has dislocated it thrice. That is my only concern with C Brasswell Hope for the best.

BOL Insider: Five-stars lining up spring visits

Paraphrased below: (let me know if this is too much or needs additional editing)

Coach Sal putting in work?
Visits should be soon and/or during Spring practice

quote:

No. 2 ILB Antoine Sampah loves Coach SAL

Reggie Grimes HCNS seems to be on this Bama Legacy

4* OT Andrew Gentry from Col in touch with Kyle Flood and Sunseri. OV in April.

4* LB Quandarrius Robinson visited Bama for 2 Jr Days & as everyone knows, he decommitted from the Barn after the 1st; using visits to bond with the staff and current commitments. loves Sunseri

4* QB Carson Beck well known decommit, seems still in play. father indicates regular contact with Sunseri and OC Sarkisian.

OH MY! I havent even heard of this Gentry kid , so I go and look up his junior highlights. And he’s 6’8 moves very well and he’s a straight up mauler. I haven’t seen someone like him finishing blocks and mean in a while. This kid is gonna go up in the rankings. I don’t think we got anyone from Colorado? Definitely want!!!

Spoke with Chad yesterday and Nash is still waiting on a phone call. The kid wants nothing more than to get a shot at wearing the Crimson and White. Chad's mom is still battling and any prayers would be greatly appreciated as well.

Is A-Day weekend considered an unofficial visit weekend, or do we even let recruits come to the game?
