Jack West seeing actual meaningful playing time for Stanford tonight. Mills is injured and West may be starting moving forward.

Just another player in the case against going after non resignee JuCo linemen. They've rarely worked out or played to expectations; Cody, Carpenter, and Williams being exceptions.
I thought Menzie played well for us. Also Coker, Reed and Dial did as well.
I went back to look up the numbers. Saban has added 24 JUCOS to the rosters while at UA. With 13 of the 24 starting while at UA and 7 of those being drafted into the NFL. Dickerson may get drafted late round as well. So I would say the chance for a JUCO to do well is not much different from a kid coming out of HS. The only difference is you have the opportunity to develop the kid out of HS and the JUCO you have to hope they have it coming in.
T Cody, J Carpenter, J Williams, D Menzie, J Reed, Q Dial, and Buggs were all drafted. Also starting were J Coker, S Smith, D Belue, L Brown, D Jackson, and L Dickerson.
Non factors M Ricks, B Lewis, A Douglas, D Carter, T Dixon, DJ Pettway, Ty Flournoy-Smith, J Taylor, C Baldwin, J King, E Baker.
I may have missed someone.

Dickerson is a transfer not a JuCo.
Great post however.

Your correct and Coker was as well. In a way I guess you could say they are similar since we get what we get when they arrive and hope they were developed prior to coming here.

And both from FSU.. we might just need to be their transfer portal buddies

DJ Pettway wasn’t a non factor. He got alot of playing time and was a significant contributor.

I'll admit forgetting about Reed and Buggs most recently, but my post specifically referred to "linemen" that weren't resignees from previous classes
Guys like Leon Brown and Dom Jackson(who had mega hype out of JuCo) were always the weak link on the line. Depending on what the expectations as a JuCo linemen had been, neither player came in ready to play and start their 1st year.
Maybe I should have specified further to just OL with Buggs buoying the numbers overall of the linemen, but recently JuCo has been used as last second spot fillers like King and Tevita Musika.
Save Carpenter, JuCo OL recruiting hasn't been worth investing in...

A lot of great names. Had forgotten several. Was trying to think of Menzie's name yesterday. Too lazy to look it up.
Pettway was a significant contributor.

Yes Pettway did contribute which will bolster the numbers but i did not think he ever stared. I was focusing on the players that were starters. I may be wrong though about him starting
Posted on 10/6/19 at 5:25 pm to TideWarrior
Pretty sure he started alot too. He was very solid and was quite the redemption story. To come back after getting in trouble was awesome.

Elliot Baker was a non factor as well on juco OL

I was not calling you out. I was trying to remember a few names like Menzie and started seeing others who I had forgotten and just listed them all.

Like the mock class! I’d like to swap one with Arian Smith for Henderson at Wr . But hey if Burch and Roy are in the D Line class I’m all in
Posted on 10/7/19 at 9:57 am to bloodtide 39
With Henderson , that’s a 330.32 score and could be higher by end of the year!!!!

Arian Smith is ultra fast -- close to Ruggs. With 2 big targets, Holden and Gilbert, and losing Ruggs, Jeudy and maybe D Smith too, I think A Smith is a better choice than Henderson.

Williams, Edwards and Latham should get pretty big bumps. Young will probably be a 5-star and Kennedy, Webb and QRob have a shot at 5-stars.

You really think we can get Roy, Burch, and Ricks?
