Saban has also only had one 2 offensive lineman class- 2018. There’s been a couple of years where Alabama has taken three. So In the majority of Saban’s tenure here, he’s taken 4+ offensive lineman every class, regardless of need. I think Saban understands the need to recruit OL every year, and I doubt we’re done there.

Are you sure Bama took OLs in those previous cycles without any regard to positional needs for each cycle? Since you're so certain it's a must to take more OLs in this cycle, which players in that mock class should Bama pass on in order to make room for OLs they don't need? And who are the stud OLs that Bama is targeting and in the mix for to stock up on? And which of them do you think Bama will land? I'll hang up and listen.

Thanks. I just read it. Smith has made 3 visits to UF (easy trip for him) since he committed in mid July — UF's Friday Night Lights camp in July, their home game on Sep 7 and the UF vs AU game. It sounds like Smith is still very solid with his Bama commitment and planning to sign with Bama. He may just be maintaining a backup option.

It also doesnt seem to be a great OL class this year and hence maybe why we have not pushed as hard for more then a few.

One of the guys I listen to said that the WR board is Arian Smith and Boutte as 1 and 2 with Jarrett and Henderson at 3 and 4. I feel confident that that pecking order is accurate as of right now.

quote:

Arian Smith is ultra fast -- close to Ruggs. With 2 big targets, Holden and Gilbert, and losing Ruggs, Jeudy and maybe D Smith too, I think A Smith is a better choice than Henderson. quote: With Henderson , that’s a 330.32 score and could be higher by end of the year!!!! Williams, Edwards and Latham should get pretty big bumps. Young will probably be a 5-star and Kennedy, Webb and QRob have a shot at 5-stars

Very on board with Arian Smith at WR priority #1.

My bad on picking Henderson over Smith. Both have good highlights but I was looking at some senior highlights on max preps and one thing on both is Smith is a difference maker, blazing! Plus isn’t Lakeland better competition than his junior high school I didn’t know he transfered. I think it will be a battle with Clemson and his teammate at running back

Has Arian Smith visited us recently? Love that speed. That is almost always the differentiator for WRs and RBs for me. Like Hendersons size and he has the South Florida swagger. Hope we get two out of the four at least.
