What is that, some Duke style UAT shade?

I use to see Luke's eyebrows in my nightmares.

Sometimes UAB and Auburn fans use UAT instead of UA to throw shade at Bama. I knew what you were saying I just had never seen North Carolina abbreviated as anything other than UNC so I thought that was funny. It looks like some Duke or UNC-Wilmington sneak shade. .

Here is a nice nugget from Boz, in the precamp update thread
quote:

QB: Sark thinks Tua has a lot to improve on. He has struggled going to a more pro style offense and crutches on the RPO. RPO will still be involved but, they want to include more pro style to take advantage of the WR Corps. Sark likes Mac Jones, says he knows the offense well but, goes in a shell when he makes a mistake. Lia will be good, Young will be better (Source Opinion), and that Tyson is a joke. Young according to Sauce is committed but being polite to USC.

Drake would be a shocker with all his UNC roots and legacy. Especially with Young in the fold too-- per Boz. Would be Christmas/Thanksgiving in July.

This twitter build up is hilarious.

Hey Surge, the Scheduled Commits page on 247 has EJ Williams committing August 24th on his father's birthday. It looks like Guillory, McKinnley and Grimes are up too but they are all November or later.

I guarantee you that DeArmond will start tweeting things that he read in Boz's update and act like he heard it from his source. The hacks at Al.com will do the same and so will capstonekid or whatever he goes by now

Scheduled Commits: 2020 | 2021 (247Sports)

Top targets expected to commit by August 31:

2021 4-star QB Drake Maye 6-4/200 NC hudl
-- Maybe (pun) to Bama July 17, per buzz.

4-star ATH Kristian Story 6-1/206 AL hudl
-- Announcing July 18 at 8 am; CBs 100% Bama.

4-star CB Nadab Joseph 6-2/180 Juco hudl
-- Hank recently said he thinks Nadab Joseph or Xavion Alford could pop next.

4-star S/CB Xavion Alford 6-0.5/188 TX hudl
-- "Coach Saban, every time I go up there, he makes it clear that he really wants me... It could be today, tomorrow, a month from now, it could be real soon.”

4-star DL Jaquelin Roy 6-3.5/289 LA hudl
-- Announcing July 26, 7-pm to UA, LSU or ATM.

5-star RB Kendall Milton 6-2/220 CA hudl *
-- Announcing July 29, 7-pm; apparently to UGA.

4-star WR EJ Williams 6-3.5/192 AL hudl *
-- Announcing August 24 at 5-pm, his father's birthday. At The Opening Finals on June 30, he said Bama is #1 and Clemson #2. But the concensus among 247 analysts is that he's still trending to Clemson. He camped at Clemson in June and said he plans to attend their "All In" big recruiting event the last weekend in July.

2021 4-star QB Jalen Milroe 6-1.5/194 TX hudl
-- Before 2019 FB season begins. After he camped at UA in June, he tabbed Bama his leader. He's moved up his commit timeframe and was CBd to Bama by by Hank (BOL) and Texas mod Mike Roach on July 12; has no other CBs.

5-star RB Zachary Evans 5-11/200 TX hudl
-- Has said he may commit before FB season, but has also said he'll take as long as he needs to be sure of his decision.

Top targets scheduled to commit after August:

4-star DB/WR Joel Williams 6-1.5/180 LA hudl
-- Announcing September 9 at 6-pm.

4* OLB/TE Reggie Grimes 6-4.5/240 TN hudl
-- Announcing November 2.

4-star ILB Jordan Banks 6-1/228 CA hudl
-- Late November, per June Champions Cookout post-visit article (BOL-VIP).

4-star DT Jacobian Guillory 6-2/331 LA hudl *
-- Announcing December 20.

4-star DT McKinnley Jackson 6-2/327 MS hudl
-- Announcing February 5.

It’s appears at least one of them post here I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a few more.

If I was him I’d throw something in there that’s not true and only originated from him, just to see if it pops up anywhere else.

BREAKING: Bama lands elite 2021 QB (BamaOnLine)
quote:

Four-star quarterback Drake Maye, the No. 7 pro-style signal caller in the 2021 class, went against the family grain on Wednesday and committed to Alabama.

“It’s the winning mentality,” he told BamaOnLine of why he’s rolling with the Tide. “I went down there in the spring and then for camp in the summer. I loved it. I sat down with Coach (Nick) Saban, just talked about the winning mentality, it’s all about winning down there. To have Coach Saban say in the 2021 class that I was a big target, it meant a lot to me. I just felt like why not Bama, right? It’s the best place in the country.”

The Cornelius (N.C.) Myers Park product explained why he’s committing now instead of next spring when he originally intended.

“As this quarterback thing goes a lot of these guys make their decisions earlier and earlier,” he said. “I just felt like why not decide now? I’m going to get it out of the way and focus on my high school season. I’m excited. We’re going to have a great season. It’s going to be fun.”

Maye is a North Carolina legacy. His father, Mark, played quarterback for the Tar Heels and his older brother, Luke, basketball. Aside from the Tar Heels, the four-star QB held over a dozen scholarship offers.

“It was definitely hard,” Maye said choosing the Tide over UNC. “At the end of the day I’ll still be a fan of Carolina, but it’s Roll Tide now. Coach (Mack) Brown was great. Before Coach Brown got there I wasn’t much looking at Carolina to play football. I want to go to a big school to play football. I think Bama fits that perfectly.”

Tide fans need not worry about where Maye stands moving forward. “I’m shutting things down,” he said. “ Alabama (visits) only. I’m going to work on my high school season, win a championship.”

An interesting note: Maye’s father, Mark, actually chose North Carolina over Alabama in the 1980’s. “He tells me he should have gone to Alabama, but he loves Carolina,” Drake said laughing. “He had a good career.”

At 6-foot-4, 200 pounds, Maye is rated the No. 108 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings. 247Sports rates Maye the No. 5 pro-style quarterback and the No. 51 overall player.

Stay tuned to BamaOnLine for more details on this breaking story.
