Arizona offered Top-30 junior Alex Tchikou this evening. The dynamic prospect plays for Dream Christian in Arizona. Active on both ends, expect Wildcats to make major push.

Alabama just offered Top-30 junior Alex Tchikou, i’m told. Like I said, kid is a high-major recruit. Will be highly-touted nationally.

Maryland insider Jeff Ermann CB’d Karim Mane to Marquette a few days ago.

I spoke with Karim Mane following his visit to Marquette over the weekend and he had nothing but good things to say about it. Mane is looking for a place that he can thrive in an up-tempo system, have the ball in his hands early and often, and be given ample freedom on the offensive end; Marquette fits the bill. With the graduation of Markus Howard after this season, the Golden Eagles has a lot to offer.

The plan was originally for Mane to take things into the spring, exhaust most, if not all, of his official visits and then decide on a college. Alabama, DePaul, Maryland, Memphis and Michigan State are also heavily involved. Also, don’t forget that he would be of the required age and a year removed from his high school graduation to enter the NBA Draft in June.

However, Steve Wojciechowski may have Mane rethinking his thought process. Do I believe that he is near a decision? Not really, but I am also more open to the idea that he could be closer to committing than previously assumed. A commitment would be massive for Marquette, but it still does not equate to his enrollment in the fall as the professional path would still be an option.

These recruits are probably thinking if Kira doesnt go to the nba, they will have 2 future nba guards so there is no way I can play much (if I am a guard).

Marquette has a pipeline to Canadian kids. Location being the main reason.

Michigan State really wants another guard, which is why they are making a run at Karim Mane. The five-star guard has continued to take a look at the professional ranks for next year, but has also stayed open to a variety of college suitors. The Spartans were rather late to his recruitment primarily due to the decommitment of Jalen Terry in the fall. Michigan State has further work to complete but could potentially secure an official visit date from him in the coming weeks. Marquette may be out in front but MSU is in the mix alongside Alabama, Maryland, and Memphis.

If not Mane, expect for Michigan State to be active in the spring. As you stated, the transfer route, or more specifically, the grad-transfer route, might be the avenue it takes. It will not be easy to replace Cassius Winston with just one player and while AJ Hoggard will pitch in, as will Foster Loyer and Rocket Watts, an older, experienced body would be appropriate.
