The Cavs lost at the Raptors 116-104. Collin had 9 points and 3 rebounds on 2-7 shooting

AJ Jr gets raked over the coals every game on here

I'll admit I'm rough on Avery Jr during the games, but I'm rough on most of our players during bad games. And yes, it's frustrating to have a 5'10 basketball player scared to face tight defense and freeze a possession. But I also regain my composure after the game and don't wish ill-will toward any of our players. I just think it would be nice to move past the coach's son dynamic, and if I were CAJ, I'd want that too. That's just a shite position to be in. It can't be fun if your kid is a scholarship level player, but also an end of the bench kind of talent and you have to be the one that determines whether to sit him or not.

George Hill is an established starting level NBA PG and they're probably looking to ease him in. It makes sense for the Cavs who still want to compete while they rebuild. Ty Lue is a terrible coach, but I feel most would've taken the safe approach given the circumstances.

I'll reiterate, it could be worse. Imagine if Jr. wasn't even a mid-major scholarship caliber player but still got 10+ minutes every night. Like Steven Pearl.

But yeah, that has to be both fun and a pain in the arse for Avery. He has joked before about his wife wanting Jr. to be at the top of the depth chart, which makes it seem like he might actually get shite at home about Jr. not playing enough. That's got to be a difficult situation for him regardless of his son's skill level.

ESPN- In a move that could challenge the NCAA’s monopoly on elite talent, the NBA’s G League is creating a new venture as an alternative to the one-and-done route for the best American basketball prospects, it was announced Thursday. As part of a newly formed professional path starting in the summer of 2019, the G League will offer “Select Contracts” worth $125,000 to elite prospects who are at least 18 years old but not yet eligible for the NBA draft.

The G League will target recent or would-be high school graduates who otherwise would have likely spent just one season playing college basketball, enticing them not only with a six-figure salary but also the opportunity to benefit from NBA infrastructure, as well as a bevy of off-court development programs “geared toward facilitating and accelerating their transition to the pro game,” league president Malcolm Turner told ESPN.

This can't be good for the NCAA

It will be good for the NCAA. There is plenty of talent remaining to fill quality NCAA teams

Also keep in mind NCAA media exposure is valuable. The hype that drives players like Trae Young from fringe 5* to top 5 pick won't exist in this league

What are the worst rumors about why Kiffin didn't coach the NC?

Someone is alluding to it on Aubie board and curious. Said it is bad enough he'll never get another job better than FAU

Heard he was showing up late for meeting and started using his phone during practice. Basically was here in body but his mind was elsewhere.
