Not related, but he was a VCU recruit Grant brought over that he had no business bringing in to Alabama. He was also the only backup PG on the roster his first 2 years and still couldn't crack 10 mpg. Eblen was good on defense, but by God was he the worst offensive player to ever step foot in Coleman Coliseum

I would argue that against a pressing team, Avery's arse first dribbling technique does kill us. Against teams that play defense from the 3 point line in, he can be a decent player.

that's a joke

He had 2 turnovers in 3 games, never had 3 in one game. Less than 20 on the year. Kills us?

If you don't think that completely kills the offensive possession and any semblance of flowing movement against pressing defenses, I don't know what to tell you?

well then you should be looking at players other than Jr b/c most of them had a higher turnover margin per minutes.

sorry for the facts

I'd suggest Avery Jr. try that instead of facing the opposing basket while dribbling.

I think he is suggesting that it is hard to score, pass or create offense when your body is facing the wrong direction

It is a bit more of a theoretical / logic based argument

Avery just spoke at media days. Said as of today Dazon would be PG followed by Avery Jr and then Kira. Said Mrs. Cassandra wants it to be her son lol

Joke or not i dont think this is funny at all. His son should not get the minutes he is getting.

and my point is a backup guard who averages a .5 turnover a game ain't killing us

believing so it crazy town

Nobody is arguing the guy is good. We aren't losing games because of him.

I'm not a big fan of JR's play, but in reality, he's pretty solid most of the time. I don't like to see him against pressing teams, but other than that, he usually does fairly well. Hell, he's even had some games where he was pretty damned good. And, from what CAJ said, I think Kira will take over from Dazon, if he can grow up fast enough.

I don't think that joke is funny either given questions about JR's play time already

It isn't a big deal to name JR as the #2 , he's a senior, team leader and experienced. Making a joke about it when his minutes were already in question though is pretty ballsy

I will say for every 5 dumbass plays Jr. makes, he usually makes 1 or 2 Great Ones.

Herb looked bigger in the shoulders to me on that interview on the SECN. A huge athletic Herbert will make us all happy.

What will Sexton get tonight in the opener?

I really hope we have a good season. It's refreshing having Avery around

Side note: I find it funny how Riley catches so much shite, when he's been a far better player than Avery Jr. has been here.

AJ Jr gets raked over the coals every game on here

Ive been bashed on here for saying both Riley and Jr suck arse. Jr is a 5'7 point guard that we have to play offball because he cant dribble smh. Now Riley i actually have changed my feelings Riley. I think he can contribute consistently. He at least spaces the floor.
