It's not like we can call for the players jobs.

(Damn, being a college coach must suck, there's literally no one's job for people call for but yours. We can't fire the players.)

The ultimate Bama basketball moment would be us losing every game from here on out and finishing one game shy of making the tourney after all of us are so confident we’re in
we are 0-4 since I posted this. I DIDNT WANT IT TO ACTUALLY HAPPEN

Avery is the biggest sunshine pumper of them all here’s one of the quotes that bothered me tonight

quote:
Avery Johnson on where the team goes from here: “I know these two losses at home has hurt the resume, but the world is not coming to an end for Alabama basketball.”

Mindblown. You nailed it. He really is the basketball version of Butch Jones.

It all makes sense now.

Did we have a player early in the season that stated he would not accept coming off the bench

Bingo. Instead of positive leadership you have a rotten apple. This collapse is on the coach and the veterans.

Its not that he said it this one time. The thing that bothers me is he says the same “coach talk” every time. He’s like Butch Jones. He gets up there and says what people wanna hear. He doesn’t say what needs to be said. He seems to just blow it off and be care-free

This. You wouldn't hear Saban saying this stuff.

Hell we beat Georgia Southern and 2 years later he's still pissed stating: "they ran through our arse like shite through tin horn"

Yep total absolute bs if anyone is trying to scapegoat sexton. I don't blame the freshmen, I even think key is trying, Ingram was the one who made the comment abt not coming off bench.

Saw on the SECR that we have a 20% chance of making the tourney now. Talk about a free fall . Jesus

And that presumes that aren’t any upsets in the conference tournaments that lead to teams stealing an automatic bid. We went from being a lock to needing to make it to Sunday of the SECT.

Simply unbelievable yet nobody is really that surprised.

It all boils down to the coach. People can point their finger at this player or that player, or attitude, or effort, and anything else. But, they're all symptoms of poor coaching. A good coach knows how to handle all those things. Winning helps attitude and effort, and attitude and effort (and actual fricking knowledge on how to play) all help with winning.

To this point, Avery has done a poor job.

This has been the most disappointing basketball season I can remember and I've been following it for a long time. I stated several losses ago that I was done planning my time around basketball games. If a game is on, and I'm home doing nothing, I'll probably watch. But, that's the extent of it. I can't believe I watched that whole game last night. I was about to turn it off when Lawson went in. I sat there like a sucker and watched the rest of the game just to see what he'd do.

Anyway,

My only fear if Avery were cut loose after this year is losing guys to transferring and we could forget about that 2019 class...Which scares the Frick out of me. U cant lose great instate players when it's a good year 4 them.

I say let's tough it out. With the reports of the dissent in the locker room regarding feelings towards Sexton, and how well they played the three games without him, let's see how they look next season. I think they will improve dramatically.

What moment did this team in?

I want to say the second half at Kentucky. Sure we came back at Auburn but it took all we had to make that a five point game at the half.

I’ve never seen a collapse like this in all of my years of following Alabama athlwtics. We went from a lock, ranked 15th in Andy Katz’s power rankings to missing the tournament. Someone has to be fired, even if it’s not Johnson.
