Petty needs 9 more 3's to put him alone at #10 all time for made 3's at UA. He has 64 now (season).

32 more attempts will get him to #10 in that category as well. 173 now (season).

Sexton needs 20 FT makes to get to #10 all time (season).

Hall needs 14 more blocks to get to #10 all time (season). 25 more blocks will get him to 3rd (season). Hall's 2.3 blocks/game would tie for 4th all time now (season).

Sexton is tied for 57th all time in scoring now with 480 (season). If he continued his average for 9 more games, he would finish with 646 total points (3rd all time behind Reggie King/James Robinson). Over 8 games, he would finish 4th (also behind M. Ansley). If we can make a run in either tourney, he can get to 2nd (nobody is catching King - 747).

Sexton's 18.5/game average would have him 23rd as of right now (season).

ALABAMA -6 LSU

ESPN’s 2019 mock draft came out and 3 Bama players are in it.

15. Herbert Jones
33. John Petty
39. Donta Hall

THE ROAD TO THE 6th SEED

If we can get to the 6th seed, I would feel pretty good about making it to the second weekend of the tourney.

6th seed is tempting fate. You either can get a gift from the basketball gods w/ a Clemson, Cincy or Ohio State....

Or you can get a monster talented Duke, Zona, Mich St, Kansas type opponent

Alabama hasn't had a player drafted since 2008 (Richard Hendrix - 2nd round). Alabama hasn't had a first rounder since 2001 (Gerald Wallace). Both of those streaks should be broken with Sexton going first round in the 2018 draft. To have another first rounder and three total draft picks the very next year would be incredible.

I will say that right now Herbert at 15 and Petty at 33 seem like big reaches. Not saying they couldn't improve their game to that level in the next year+ though.

I think a lot of Herbert's projection is that he has already displayed an elite skill. Assuming he cleans up a few things and improves his all around game a little, mid first round isn't a big stretch. I think his long term floor is a 3 and D 2/3 in the pros.

I just see 3 of the #2 seeds going to Xavier (2 more Ls to Nova left)/Cincy (easy sched) and 1 of AU/OhioSt/TxTech or another "lesser" team

I think the 3 seed ends up with 2-3 ultra talented teams from the Mich St, Zona, UNC, Duke, Kansas spectrum

I'd say that Herb going #15 in a NBA draft is reasonable. Herb going #15 in the 2019 NBA draft is the big stretch. I'd amend your "elite skill" to "elite potential" though. He has a very long way to go to move into a #15 draft pick cateogry...

Which you should be excited about because thta means he is only going to get much better if he develops into that

While I agree, hard to project someone w/ only 18 3FGA to be a fringe lotto pick based on 3nD ability

That'd be one hell of a recruiting pitch for Avery. We took a 3* and made him a top 15 pick in two years.

We need Herbert to stay till his junior year, so he can recruit Watford though.

The ESPN writer said this

quote:

Jones is somewhat of a speculative prospect at this stage, as evidenced by his paltry numbers (5 points per game, 49 percent true shooting), and he might end up being more of a 2020 draft prospect when it’s all said and done. Players with his physical tools, budding versatility and motor are highly intriguing in today’s NBA, and there’s no doubt that his upside could be harnessed into something very interesting down the road.

Watford should sign next year though right? Shouldn't be a problem if the Volkswagon goes pro post signature

As long as Watford thinks Herbert is staying another year when he's signing, I guess it wouldn't matter. I think the prospect of playing together could be a big deal for them. Supposedly they're close friends.

So based on the how the season has gone, Bama will lose to LSU at home, then beat Kentucky and Auburn on the road.

If this team ever put it together, there isn't a team they can't beat.

Idk if any of you watch the TV Show on ABC33/40 called "The Zone" but the host said last night that Watford was an unofficial commitment to Bama. Man our 2019 and 2020 teams are looking REALLY frickig good.

We haven't won back to back games in almost a month. Time to break the streak. We REALLY need to beat LSU

I'm making the late trip to Tuscaloosa because I love to be disappointed in person. Nothing beats the drive back home on 82 after a loss to an inferior opponent.
