I haven't posted in this thread in a while, but I thought I'd give my 2 cents on Mackensie Alexander.

He named Notre Dame his leader this weekend, but if I remember correctly his academic situation is rather sketchy. If that is true then there is no way in hell he ends up there. Florida State pulled his brothers offer due to academics already, which caused Mackensie to drop them.

Kentucky is in his top 5, possibly as a back up, but I think we could possibly move to the top of his list with a good OV. Given that our admission standards are seemingly lower than ND, I think we may have a good shot at him.

It would be really nice to land him. The guy has the best coverage skills of any CB in the 2013 class IMO, even though he doesn't possess elite size.

I'm gonna keep my eyes on his recruitment.

"Rumored" package deal trying to be consummated by a Bama prospect that Bama has "allegedly" cooled on.

This is turning into a Soap Opera.

The specifics are out there and "logically" it makes sense although I can't confirm it to be legit....I just don't care to be the person that posts it in a public domain.

We have good WRs but I doubt many, if any, will go on to be superstars in the NFL.

Tide hosting prospects for WKU game

A solid group of prospects will be in Tuscaloosa on Saturday to take in the Crimson Tide’s home opener against Western Kentucky. After hosting several top Lone Star juniors at the Cowboys Classic, Saturday will provide prospects with the first opportunity to take in a game at Bryant-Denny Stadium this season.

As many as seven current commitments are expected to be at the Capstone. Marietta (Ga.) Walton teammates Tyren Jones and Parker McLeod have helped the Radiers to a 2-0 start with big wins over Brookwood and McEachern. Walton has a bye this week and Jones and McLeod will be visiting along with teammate and Georgia offensive line commit Brandon Kublanow.

Roanoke (Ala.) Handley offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman and Prattville (Ala.) Autauga Academy five-star tight end O.J. Howard were Alabama’s first two commitments in the 2013 cycle and both were regulars at Tide home games last season. The in-state prospects are both expected to be in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Howard made the trip to Arlington, Texas last weekend for the Michigan game.

Tide legacy Walker Jones was another regular last season, and with good reason seeing that both his brothers, Barrett and Harrison play for Alabama. Jones will be joined by fellow commitments ArDarius Stewart and Darius Paige.

One of Paige’s new teammates at Foley, 2014 wide receiver Demarcus Bingham will also be attending. Bingham has early interest from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, and Mississippi State.

Two top 2013 targets tentatively expected to attend are Norcross (Ga.) top 100 all-purpose back Alvin Kamara and Dothan (Ala.) Northview athlete Marquez White. White, who is committed to Florida State, took in the Seminoles’ first game against Murray State last week. The in-state prospect continues to give the Crimson Tide a long look.

Kamara has visited the Capstone several times during the offseason, most notably spending his entire spring break in Tuscaloosa. The Peach State standout recently named a top two of Georgia and Alabama and his recruitment is expected to come down to those two programs.

Look for Kamara to be joined in Tuscaloosa by talented 2014 teammates Myles Autry and Lorenzo Carter. Autry is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete while Carter is 6-foot-5, 221-pound defensive end. Both hold multiple BCS offers and are Top247 members.

Three of 247Sports’ top six juniors in the state of Georgia are scheduled to be in attendance. Blackshear (Ga.) Pierce County pro-style quarterback Tyler Harris threw for the Alabama staff at camp over the summer and will be in town again this weekend. 247Sports ranks Harris as the no. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country.

Georgia commit Stanley Williams has also expressed his intentions to attend the game. The 5-foot-8, 189-pound speedster committed to the Bulldogs over the summer. He is currently ranked as the no. four junior in Georgia by 247Sports.

Tucker (Ga.) defensive lineman Elisha Shaw has offers from Alabama and Florida State following impressive performances at both programs’ camps this summer. The Crimson Tide are currently on top for the 6-foot-5, 291-pounder and could make an even better impression when he visits on Saturday. Georgia should also be major players with the four-star prospect.

Knoxville (Tenn.) Webb School safety Todd Kelly, Jr. has been to several Alabama games in the past, as his sister is a current student and cheerleader for the Crimson Tide. The Tennessee legacy already holds over 20 offers and will be back in Tuscaloosa to watch the Alabama host the Hilltoppers.

Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett defensive end Dante Sawyer is off to an impressive start as a junior, turning in one of the more notable performances at the Corky Kell Classic in the Georgia Dome a few weeks ago. Sawyer will be returning to the Capstone for the first time since he camped in late July.

Word is Kamara really likes Alabama......the deciding factor is that Bama "currently" wants him as an athlete while UGA has him as a RB.

All things being equal, if Bama only currently had 0 to 1 committed RBs and wanted Kamara as a RB........I'd say that he'd be a Bama commit right now.

Saw Kamara play in person last night and I think he's more of an "elite athlete" playing RB right now as opposed to a "natural" bell-cow RB...which is what I deem our current RB from the state of Georgia to be.

Kamara is perhaps the better "athlete" but our current commit is simply a better "pure RB" in terms of skillset (ie. vision, power & shiftiness at the line of scrimmage, ability to carry the load against big time defenses)

As far as I know, we haven't offered Kublanow, but I would rather have him than KSM. Different positions I know

Barring charges being dropped against Deon, I'm guessing another spot will be opening up in this class. Could be good for someone like Jonathan Cook or Kamara

hey Guys

DJ's issue is concerning, but staff will let it play itself out to see what happens before making a decision

If Kublanow was offered at Aday, when he visited with Tyren, he would've committed and I like him better than KSM as well

It is a huge opportunity this weekend for Bama with Kamara & Bama will push for his commitment

If the DJ stuff goes the way of previous guys that play for LSU and Bama (I don't want this discussion to go the same way the SECR thread did, so I'm leaving it there), then he should still be in the class, and the matter should be cleared it up in time for him to sign before April (which I think is the end of the signing period).

But on a different topic, what is yalls outlook on KSM? Is it still tackle or will he play guard? And when wil his commitment be accepted?

That's definitely being optimistic IMO but we'll see what happens. He was a bit of a long shot to make the class because of grades anyway.

I don't think he'll be a part of this class with or without todays transpirings, will probably be the jeremy hill route..I just think people are coming down way too hard on a kid that hasn't been convicted of anything yet

Prob depends on if we have a friend in the government who can reduce it down and help the kid out, i.e. Jeremy Hill style.
