De La Cruz is the real deal.
Wow. Hit for the Cycle in the 6th inning and only in his 15th career big league game.

This is definitely not the game for you if you like pitching. The ball is flying off of the bats tonight.

Fun game! I'm a Reds fan, but I certainly don't hate the Braves. Tonight was probably as good as it'll get, and I expect things to come crashing back to reality any time now.
Excited for the future of this scrappy Cincy team, though!

That was one heck of a series with each game coming down to one run. I'm more relieved than anything to get out of Cincy with the series win. They are a tough young team. If they can get a quality starting pitcher or two they'll be really good.

1-9 no let up with this lineup. Fun to watch.

Only 2nd inning.
Acuna with 2 HR's
Riley, Murphy, Harris each with 1.

This could possibly be the best Braves team of my lifetime and I grew up in the 90s.

This lineup is insanely hot, and really good even when they aren’t. However, we’ll need Max back, Strider in peak form, and the top 3-4 bullpen arms to be lights out if we want to make a legitimate run at the WS.
Really curious to see what pitching AA can add at the deadline.
Still, this is fun to watch.

61 HRs in June is now the NL record for HRs in a month. They absolutely killed it in June.

Unbelievable offense.
Putting up video game like numbers.
Already up 6-0 today.

Through 81 games Acuña's OPS is still > 1.000.
That's insane.
Moving Olson out of the 2 hole and Ozzie up has been solid gold too.

8 in a row, swept 2nd place team and now up 9 in the division. Chop On!

The only thing that gives me cause for concern is that we are peaking too early and won't peak again. It's unfair to say WS or bust, but this team is just too good to not get there and it'd really suck if they don't.

Also, other than a couple key starting pitchers, injury luck has been on our side.
Acuna says he prays everyday for the team's health.
Let's hope it continues.

Kolby Allard against Shane Bieber and Kolby’s team is actually favored (slightly). That’s just crazy.
This Braves offense is historic right now.

As good as this team is I still think if we don’t make some moves in the bullpen at the trade deadline, this bullpen will cost us a Championship.

I was with you there for a little while, but I think I am talking myself back to the thought that we don't really need to burn what little minor league talent we have left for a good reliever.
Here is a quote that I saw from David O'Brien today that I think kind of backs that up:
quote:
The Braves bullpen has a 3.47 ERA that’s the best in the NL by nearly a quarter of a run, despite being without Dylan Lee for an extended period (he’ll return after break, as will Jesse Chavez at some point).
So hopefully getting Chavez and Lee back will give us the bump we need for our bullpen. But a 3.47 ERA is pretty good for an overall bullpen if that continues to hold up.

Who's going to Gwinnett when Chavez and Lee return? Also, Fried and Wright.
Let's take the first two first. Heller has pitched fairly well, but I'd guess he'll be one of them. McHugh has had an abysmal year, but still had been one of the better middle relievers in the league up until this year. Yates, until Tuesday, had been excellent for about a month. Jimenez is frustrating, but you keep waiting for him to come around because his stuff is top-notch. He seems to hang more than his share of meatballs, though. Tonkin has been very solid and gives them lots of quality long relief innings. Iggy, Minter, and Anderson are high leverage and not going anywhere. It'll be interesting what they do. Tons of pitching depth is a nice problem to have.
