moron. As a player, you should KNOW your playing days are limited and the flow of money will stop soon. So, if you net $60 million after taxes, be smart enough to hire Goldman Sachs or a reputable financial advisor to invest your money and advise you on how much you can spend along the way. It's actually very simple, for anyone with an ounce of intelligence and self control.

This is the hard honest truth and these players just need someone in their life to be real and honest. It is sad that not one person made it through to him and those like him. Chad Ocho Cinco should start a company that helps advise these players.

They have professional financial advisors and a life coach. NO EXCUSES!

What a dumbass. You can make $1,000,000 last forever with about 30 minutes of research on low risk investing.

That $1,000,000 is roughly 20,000 shares of QQQI. Roughly 7 bucks annualized dividend per share. He netted probably 40 to 45 million after taxes, agents, etc., I never feel bad for these idiots.

Shout out to Invesco's QQQ ETF growth fund.

Say he blew through 20 of his 60. At 5%, that's $2million. Take out 40% for taxes, that's $1,200,000 that he can freely spend, per year. That's over $23,000 per week. I could squeak by on that.

and says the guy whipping out cash money to LSU players after the national championship lmao

Cry me a fricking river.

The NFLPA literally forces rookies to sit thru classes that explain this. He may just be an idiot.

Idiot. Another 30 for 30 episode. Many of us spend an entire working career hoping to set aside a fraction of that amount of money for retirement. I remember his shoes, jewelry, etc. Another Andre “Bad Moon” Rison.

Poor guy. He should start a Go Fund Me.

What a DA. 96% of the population lives on tremendously less than that. Give me one years worth of that and I’m set for life while very comfortable. Proper investing and being financially responsible will go a long ways.

He obviously didn’t pay attention like most of them when they bring these new NFLers in for the risks and pitfalls of elaborate spending lifestyles.

Yet another cautionary tale to support the stereotype…..million dollar athlete with a 10 cent brain.

It always amuse me when millionaire athletes cry poverty after they piss away their fortunes. Maybe you shouldn't Sprewell your money down the toilet, jackass.

In fairness Sprewell wasn’t necessarily bad with money, just strangled coaches

Luckily Odell was blessed God given athletic ability because he missed the boat on investing and finances!

6th grade economics I made a b- and knew the difference between Gross and Net income. For a mere 1% commission on that contract of his, I will gladly explain the difference as well as explain that "spending $4M a year" does NOT lower his yearly income. I may have to buy some numbered wooden blocks and one of those slide things with the little balls that kindergartners use, but I plan on going all in on his financial education.

I’d like to see more than just this clip for context. Because I’m pretty sure Odell is saying he’s doing ok, but some other guys blew their money and he understands how. I remember that he took salary as bitcoin a few years ago and saw something he posted on social media saying he did good with that investment.
