Bob Knight's Michael Jordan Prediction Goes Viral After His Death

I was in Bloomington the Sunday he was fired. I think there was more damage done to the campus that night than there was the night they upset Duke to go to the Elite 8 with his players (and the majority of his staff). Hated the guy when I was up north but grew to respect everything he did.

His firing was a bullshite set up by an Indianapolis sportswriter. The kid Knight was attempting to teach respect to was the guy's stepson. I know of a few graduates who paid the fee for a replacement diploma because they didn't want anything with Myles Brand's name on it. The AD was run off a few years later and his replacement tanked the Financials into the deep red despite IU being a very valuable brand.

The 1987 loss still haunts me. Missed an 8 foot touch shot as time expired. Then, in 92 when it was close late and after the game someone asked BK if he was nervous and he said something to the effect of…. ‘I was until I looked down the court and saw who was coaching the Tigers’. Dale despised BK and I think it was mutual. Good memories.

No wonder society is the way it is today. So many soft pussies in society now.

Always liked and respected Knight. His passing is a huge loss.

Probably the Greatest to ever coach the game. There will never be another TEAM COACH like him with all the (me players) we have now.

Dude was a jack arse. A coach can be demand discipline and be a hard arse without being a complete jerk. Dude was nothing more than a bully who never got challenged.

Coach Knight built solid teams because he didn't coddle and coach softies, he was tough and mean at times and that was the difference in great an average to below avg teams.

He wasn't for everyone..even some that played for him, but there are enough that did play for him that love him; so, he was "right" for some and that's what we are missing. It's ok to yell...some people need that to respond (some need reassurance..) people are different

the Bobby Knights of the world being kicked to the curb is what's wrong with America today. Discipline, accountability, doing it right, not feeling sorry for yourself or looking for a handout. Foundations of a strong person.

Need more hardasses like him today. RIP coach.
