I'm sorry, but they broke me. I'd love to fight the good fight and cheer on Duke (I believe Sparty beats tOSU, but Duke...), but for the first time since 9-6, I'm going to admit (granted I didn't admit it before and it happened) that Duke won't even play FSU close. Jameis would have to be charged and the luck the Auburn has had would need to splash on Duke. But for the first time I don't believe anymore. For the first time since 07 I'm actually being pessimistic about something. After last night I won't put my hopes up for Duke, I can't take another letdown.

So, we looking at a BCS Bowl? If Auburn made the BCSCG, wouldn't the Sugar replace them with us? If not, are we looking at Cotton? Who do you think our opponents would be in either bowl?

I've seen the orange bowl against Clemson thrown around.

Clemson? Sammy Watkins could be a good matchup for Belue in a BCS Bowl to get some last second exposure.

And we get to see our defense against another mobile quarterback

Unless we Utah it. I'm not so sure with this team.

AJ and Mosley won't let that happen, imo.

Yeah I'm hopeful that maybe we can have a bcs game and go in and dominate. This loss took it out of me. Not so much that we lost, but how we lost and who we lost to. I think I'd have taken it better if we had lost to Texas ATM or LSU. Now it's just hard to get excited about playing for some bowl. Thankfully I have a month to get back into it. I'm sure I'll be ready then.

Matching up with Clemson would be good for us. More time to plan and adjust to a mobile QB and more Florida exposure.

A Utah repeat is all but assured, imo.

I didn't notice the seniors getting on guys who were screwing up and unfocused, like they have in past games.

At least our OL didn't get FS penalties because they were so fat they couldn't hold their stance, a la Dante Ellington.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll be ready to cheer on Duke by Saturday, but right now I just don't even know what to feel. I feel bad for AJ, but he's still the GOAT Bama QB to me. I hope we let him statpad 324 yards to get 3000.

I hope DePriest comes back. He's played at an insanely high level the back quarter of this season, maybe his stock shoots up and he bolts, but losing him would hurt. We've always had a MLB return under Saban. We'd have talent there, but new guys.

Bama problems.. trying to figure out where an 11 win team is going bowling.

I too hope DePriest comes back. We need his leadership next year.

I love the way he has played the last few weeks too. I was ready to write him off as ever being a great ILB, BUT if he plays this consistently for a full year, he's a second round player.

Our team played a hard fought game, our coaches botched the frick out of the game. They are human, it happens. We had so many oppurtunities to put the game away in the fourth, we just couldnt do it.

We'll live.

The coaches didn't drop balls in the end zone and miss two 44-yard field goals. The coaches didn't follow the read inside instead of following the QB. This loss was on everyone. Saban's biggest mistake was going for it on 4th and inches from the 12 instead of just taking the chip shot field goal.

Don't forget the 33 yarder.

You can't even blame Cade Foster without blaming Saban. The fact that our FG kicking sucks is directly because of the fact that it is one facet of the game that has not had sufficient attention to it. People have wondered what it is that Bobby Williams does. I don't get into blaming assistants or coordinators. If our FG team right now is a cluster frick, it's one person's fault and one person's only, and it's his responsibility to fix it. If that means firing...or at least kicking upstairs...a loyal, long time assistant who has been with you at three other jobs, so be it. Fix it.

Baylor will be higher ranked. Won't be Clemson.

That is true, but players dropping balls is different than a coach making the conscious decision to try and kick a 57 yard game winner with a guy that has kicked 2 fgs in his career, while putting a bunch of 275+ big boys out there to defend a possible return by a speedster CB. It was just totally botched. But Saban is human, he makes mistakes. It happens. Just calling it like I see it.

Outside of the LSU 2011 game and yesterday's game, they have been just fine.

Further, when two bowls lose host teams, the bowl losing the No. 1 team may not select a replacement team from the same conference as the No. 2 team, unless the bowl losing the No. 2 team consents.

So wait, if FSU vs AU, the Orange Bowl could potentially not be allowed to pick Bama? Then I guess they'd pick tOSU and the Sugar would pick Bama? That seems very likely.

Then, if tOSU plays FSU, if the Orange somehow didn't select Alabama, would the Rose Bowl?
