LSU forward Sa’Myah Smith has reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to multiple outlets.

The 6-2 redshirt sophomore from Texarkana, Texas, played in 36 games this season with 28 starts, averaging 6.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

She suffered a torn ACL seven games into her sophomore season in 2023-2024.

I think there is more to this decision than basketball. Someone else announced her decision to leave too

She is a starter now and she will end up a reserve after she transfers.

Queen Mulkey is a winner and one of the best college coach in all of college sports. Read her resume carefully.

I hope they NIL her to stay. This may be a sign Johnson is declaring for the WNBA draft and she does not want to be a part of a rebuild/reload with Morrow leaving for the draft.

This one makes no sense. She was really developing and could play her natural Forward position.

That team is losing a lot, I hope and believe that KM will do what it takes to bring in more talent. Got to have a true center.

Not the first starter to transfer like this (TCU). As they say "follow the money"

TCU is a likely landing spot. She seemed a little light in weight to play down low with the SEC bigs.

She would be a stud if we can pull in a legit center. Hate to see her go but she needs to be where she can strive. Look at HVL….

She is a fast forward playing center which works vs lower rated team but vs the Top 5 USCe, Tx, UCLa who have true centers she played hard but couldn’t control the Center. The team needs a lot of help stated it numerous time throughout the year can’t play 3 vs 5 and run out of gas in the 4th quarter. Need at least 7 player rotation.

Mulkey has fought all her life for everything she has gotten. Still carries that chip on her shoulder too. No doubt HOFer.

She wants more money. College sports are going to have to start thinking like professional sports. If players can leave at any time maybe teams should be able to trade players or protect what they have.

I bet KM has plans to bring in better players. She was not very effective vs UCLA anyway.

Some people say anything! That girl played her tail off during that game. Big loss for lady tigers!

Not surprised. This is the mindset our youth has now and the transfer portal makes it easy for them. Stars want to go where they can shine the brightest. And people actually support the idea of letting high schoolers have their own portal.
