As long as Geno is at uconn, they will never be overrated and is a favorite to win a championship every year. Won’t be surprised if they blow through the tournament yet again.

In what universe are they the favorite to win the championship "every year"? When they won last year, it was the first they'd won in ten seasons.

For whatever reason Texas didnt take Vandy seriously tonight. Still think LSU and South Carolina are a step above.

Texas took Vandy seriously. They just ran into a motivated team tonight on that team's home floor.
Here's the report on all the recruits coming for this game. I've seen Kaleena Smith play in person. I can say without question.....................she's as good a point guard as Jada Richard, RIGHT NOW...................and I think Richard is great for a sophomore. But, Kaleena Smith is THAT good!

Recruits Coming For LSU vs SC!
Actually, the series is 22-21 in favor of LSU. So, they have beaten SC. It's just been a long time...........................................just like when this latest win streak started. At that time LSU had won many games in a row. Let's just take this one for what it is...................two top five teams and two of the greatest coaches in history.

But seeing South Carolina go in dry on Tennessee for a full 40 minutes the other day was a bit disturbing.

it is, but when you realize WHY it looked like that I think you can feel a lot better about our chances. UT continued to just shoot threes and shot themselves out of the game. So, Dawn just employed a zone defense to shut everything down in the paint, and let them fire away from distance. We're not gonna do that against them. I doubt they'll play much zone defense against us, plus I think our defense is much better than Tennessee's, from what I've seen.
The only game that ABC has put in the primetime slot, generally reserved for a big men's game, is the South Carolina vs LSU game. The game is sold out and last I checked the cheapest ticket I saw was going for $120 at the top row of the PMAC. It's going to be a crazy environment!!!

South Carolina vs LSU in Primetime!

Are you dense or something?

LSU women's basketball has won the SEC championship three times.....
2004-05, 2005-06, 2007-08

They've been to the final four six times..............'04, '05, '06, '07, '08. '23

They've won one NCAA championship in 2023.

What exactly is this thread even about?

They lucked up winning a national title that 2nd year under Mulkey. South Carolina was the better team that year ranked No.1 all season and beat them bad in the regular season. And it would have been a repeat if South Carolina had got past Caitlin Clark and Iowa to face LSU in the title game. But Clark and Iowa's big ladies roughed up and handled South Carolina's bigs doing LSU a favor. But Iowa spent themselves in that big upset game against South Carolina and were drained when they faced LSU in the title game. Plus, LSU shot the lights out in that game against Iowa! Lol

What are you, twelve years old?

The best team at the time of the tournament, won the championship that year. That team was LSU. Just be happy for a change.
LSU WBB last SEC championship was in 2008. I see what you did there.

Please stop trying to compare the two programs. There's no comparison......

What do you clowns watch,no inside game,WTF.LSUdestroyed them in the paint most of the game are you people blind.

It's obvious they're not watching the game. LSU outrebounded Texas 40-36 and had more points in the paint. They didn't lose the game because of Texas' size. They lost because they couldn't handle the defensive pressure in the fourth quarter, period.

re: Flujaue is struggling

She is and has always been a good but inefficient player. She is a volume shooter that needs a lot of shots to get her points. She over dribbles and has bad turnovers. When we had Reese and Morrow a lot of her low % shooting performances were overlooked because they were getting offensive rebounds and put backs. Against lesser teams the inefficiency is also overlooked because it is made up for by other players and us winning. When playing a team like Texas and SC where the margin for error is so low, her inefficiency and low shooting percentage is amplified.

Yea.............................this is not true.

Last season, Johnson shot 47% from the field and 38% from the three point line. For a two guard that's hardly "inefficient". This season, she's having a harder time scoring the basketball for sure, but as I'd mentioned earlier, it's CLEAR that she's a better passer and rebounder this season than in the past. So, it's pretty much a wash.

re: Flujaue is struggling

I don't know if she's "struggling" per se, but she's not been as effective offensively this season. What she has improved on, however, is her rebounding, passing and defense. She's also the team leader, along with Williams, in terms of encouraging and motivating the team. So, she's still having a good season.

A tip of the cap to Texas. They obviously understood our offensive scheme and played defense against it to perfection.

Exactly! As they should've on THEIR home court. Let's not make this any more than it is guys. It's a loss ON THE ROAD to one of the other top five teams. It's just ONE LOSS.

I’m not really worried about it. No NCAA game will ever be reffed like that. They let em maul us and we just got frustrated and then no one was hitting in the second half.
Harmon won’t be allowed to just run around fouling people away from Austin.
And we prob played our worst game of the year.
Kim didn’t seem overly pissed off.

All of this!^^^^^^^^^^^

Let's not get too overly upset though, everyone. Remember this was a Texas home game. You expect the officiating to be somewhat biased. I really don't think that's why we lost this game though.

The strength of this team is the guards. The offensive should flow through them. My biggest reason why we lost the game tonight was because we didnt share the ball enough for whatever fricking reason. Also assist to turnover ratio was horrible. Great thing about basketball is there is a long way to go.

Exactly!

re: Texas is just better than us

They are better inside. That's it.

And yet, just like the first game, we outrebounded them AND scored more points in the paint.

They're not "better inside" by any measure. They did do an extremely good job on their perimeter defense vs our guards, however.

Texas is the most elite defensive WBB team I’ve ever seen.

So, you've been watching WBB for two years?
I always thought she'd be as good as she is. I wasn't sure it would happen this quickly, considering she didn't get enough playing time last season. But, I'm glad it has.

Also, it appears Okeke is still in the mix for us!

Lola Lampley was named a McDonald's All American today. This recruiting class is not nearly as deep as last season, but it's still quality!
