We kept the post alive with perseverance and patience

Indeed we did!
It's pretty much been stated that Zakiyah will be first off the bench. The starting guards will be Fulwiley, Williams and Williams.

Knox will start at the 4. Minaeva is a future star and will play significant minutes. Morro will play starter minutes even if she comes off the bench. Z can finally play exclusively at the 3 unless Kim sometimes decides to go small.

I would say LSU now has a better first 10 than South Carolina and is at least on the same level if not better than UCONN right now.

If they stay healthy and gel the way they should, this is a Final Four team that can win it all. The only question mark for me is how consistently can Lay, Jada Williams, and Laila Reynolds hit the 3 ball. We know MK, Z, and Noa Morrow will shoot the 3 ball consistently.

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. Although we're not as big as South Carolina, I do believe this team can make the final four.

That's pretty much where I'm at, at this point.

A player who was the MVP of a national championship team, in a program that had never won one, and is now KILLING IT in the pros, and some just can't help shitting on her because they don't like how she trash talked a white girl who's never won ANYTHING.
FOH!

She and Bradley are the same age, albeit in different classes. I imagine both will grow another inch in the next year, so we may be looking at TWO 6'6" post player for next season.

Considering how she's been playing this month, this was a weird thread to post. You post her worst game.........................................but don't post ANY of the 20+ point, 12+ reb games? She's literally a three time all star, former NCAA champion and All American, but you point out when she has a bad game?

Are there a bunch of people in this thread that don't remember 2011? That is the greatest team ever to not win the title. Beat the Rose Bowl Champs, Orange Bowl Champs, Sugar Bowl Champs, and the National Champs while going undefeated in the SEC.

That defense was as good as it gets. It took Bama almost 2 full games plus overtime to score a touchdown. Don't let that final score fool you. They kicked 5 FGs and didn't score an actual touchdown until 4 minutes left. What Burrow was on offense, TM was on defense. It would be an amazing battle.

Ultimately 2019 would pull it out, but those acting like it would be a blowout are nuts.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with this! That game would be thisclose.
Kaleena Smith have lined up her official visits for the Fall, and LSU is not on the list. So, it looks like we're going all in on Banks for the 2027 pg......

Kaleena Smith Official Visits

Still waiting for LSU to announce the bigs to finish the roster.

Pretty much. Not much else to talk about until then. What I do know is that if the roster stays as is, I don't see us having a shot at winning an NCAA championship.

Anyone that saw them play in HS would never say Larry is an upgrade from Jada. If they played in the same team Jada would start every time.

I completely agree. In high school, during their senior year, Jada was the state player of the year. Personally, I don't think Jada did poorly for LSU in her first season as a starting point guard on the collegiate level. It still baffles me that she would leave her home state team, to play at Ole Miss. She was literally in position to be the starting pg for three years straight. I don't get it.

HOWEVER, I DO think that for THIS coming season Jada Williams is an upgrade and hopefully, we'll get Kaleena Smith the next season.

Where does it say this?

You can go to the pairings on the NCAA website if you wish

Kim said that at a press conference assuming. But if you look at the draw we were not. Plus how would be ahead of Vandy if they beat us head to head.

When Vandy lost to Ole Miss in the SEC tournament, it knocked them below us. LSU was the highest two seed in the NCAA tournament pairings.
quote:

You dont lose to Kentucky or Vandy and youre the highest 2 seed maybe even a 1 seed and your road is easier making your chances of making the final four higher. Duke was the best 3 seed and a lot better than a lot of the 2 seeds.

We were the highest two seed in this past tournament.

Don’t know what ya’ll think about Captain Will’s podcast, but I watched for the first time last night on his take of LSU getting Noa Morro. Although he’s probably a Gamecock guy, he seemed to have an objective take. He thinks getting Morro is “huge” for LSU, that she’s a potential SEC star, and if she plays to her ability LSU will be “trouble” for everyone in the SEC next year. He said the biggest reason is that as a stretch 4 she shoots almost 40 percent from 3. So defenders will have to respect that ability whereas they might not respect the 3-point shooting of Jada Williams or Laila Reynolds, outstanding players but not great from 3 with averages 30% or lower.

LSU lost 3 of its top 3-pt. shooters in Flau’jae (43 percent), Richard (40 percent), and Bella. Mikayla (42 percent) and Lay shoot the 3 well, but they need others to step up to shoot the 3 well next season also so defenses don’t start just packing it in down low against LSU’s bigs. Maybe Z and Lola shoot the 3 well. Reynolds and Jada Williams were both McDonalds AA who Kim likes for a reason.

I've been watching Will for a couple of years now. He is a SC homer, but I've noticed with his newer podcast he's trying to be more equal in his assessment of teams outside of SC. I do agree with him that Morro has the potential to change the dynamic on offense for this team, if she can score inside AND outside. It remains to be seen but, I have a feeling she's going to be the starting power forward with Knox coming off the bench, and Koval at the center.
quote:

LSU has their best shot with GG banks. Super high on LSU, Mulkey and actually spoke highly about the state of Louisiana. Flaujae is her mentor.

Only issue is SC is gunning for her too. With what LSU graduates she would have the chance to start day 1 and be the pg at helm for 4 years

As I'd stated in my earlier post, I like Smith a little better, but both she and Banks are GREAT. So, I wouldn't be opposed to either. But I think what I'd said earlier is the case.........................................the staff COULD offer either the opportunity to be the starting pg on day one. I'm hoping that, plus a sweet NIL deal, will be enough to get one of them here to go along with Bradley..

:geauxtigers:
Just thought I'd take us a little off topic here.....................

Has anyone realized that, although we lost Jada Richard, it might actually end up being a good thing? Jada would've been our starting pg for three straight seasons, through 2028. Now that she's gone, and our starting pg is going to be a senior this upcoming season, it means now we can put on a full onslaught to get Kaleena Smith. She's the type of pg who can come here and start on day one, and I'd imagine that will be a selling point to her from this staff, this coming Summer and Fall. It's gonna be tough to get her out of California, but a promise of starting on day one, along with NIL, might be enough!
:geauxtigers:

As I'd stated earlier the thread, Morro is definitely a big pickup. But she's not enough. We actually need one more post that is closer to at least 6'5". So, again.........................................................I'll wait.

:geauxtigers:
Morrow would be great, but still not enough. I'll wait and see........................

Dawn is KILLING us on the recruiting trail. I guess this means the streak extends to 20+ games. Right now, with the team SC has, it really doesn't matter who we're recruiting this offseason..........
