Jay Johnson landed a key outfield piece Sunday with Tulane sophomore Jason Wachs committing to LSU.

The 19-year-old left-handed hitter led Tulane in 2026 with a .327 average, nine homers, 21 doubles, and 54 RBIs, earning First-Team All-AAC honors.

Wachs led the Green Wave in every major offensive category last season.

I distinctly remember these same sentiments last year with that portal haul. Let’s hope these players actually perform and live up to the hype.

We hear this every year. And it turns out well for us almost every time. So you don't need to hope anymore Mr CDawson.

Once every other year is not almost every time. That's 50% of the time.

No LSU thought they'd be getting a scrub out of the portal

We say good bye. I wish them well.

I like the fact that not only does he hit, but his position is the position of need. LF is covered, this fills the RF position.
