Lane Kiffin released a statement on Sunday afternoon to officially announce that he has accepted the LSU job.
quote:

"After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU."

"I was hoping to complete a historic six season run with this year's team by leading Ole Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team's incredible success and their commitment to finish strong, and investing everything into a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the program in any areas of concern. My request to do so was denied by Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so they could better maintain their high level of performance. Unfortunately, that means Friday's Egg Bowl was my last game coaching the Rebels."

"While I am looking forward to a new start with a unique opportunity at LSU, I will forever cherish the incredible six years I spent at Ole Miss and will be rooting hard for the team to complete their mission and bring a championship to Oxford."

-Lane Kiffin

Kiffin, along with his family and staff members following him to LSU, will arrive in Baton Rouge Sunday evening and hit the ground running ahead of the National Signing Period from December 3-5.

Kiffin comes to LSU after six seasons as Ole Miss head coach, compiling a 55-19 (32-17 SEC) record. He led the No. 7 Rebels to an 11-1 record this season and a trip to the College Football Playoffs.

Kiffin won 10 or more games in four of his six seasons in Oxford.

Now, he's headed to Baton Rouge with expectations of playoffs and championships.

Shout out to Verge. Many of you thought he would be incompetent. Yet, alignment happened really fast and got him.

Let’s all cry for the “student athletes” he’s leaving, half of which will be in the transfer portal for more money next year

If your son was good enough to be paid, he would take the money and you would encourage it.
Just because the system is broken doesn’t mean the vast majority of these kids don’t love the game and will all lament the unique opportunity to achieve they could have had.
The NCAA portal rules have destroyed this team, and it’s not right.

The thing about the school not letting him coach the playoffs is an out. He can now say he wanted to but can't. Unfortunately for Keith, it also casts the school as villains and players as victims, which might spur a mass exodus of players.

I’m cautiously optimistic. After thinking Kelly would do a Johnson I’m hoping he is successful at LSU. Now bring Coach O as assistant head coach

Look at Lane the last 3 years. The dude just went 11-1 after bringing back 2 starters.

Never liked Kiffin before, but I sure like him now! If he can raise us from the rock bottom level Brian Kelly took us to, I'm a FAN!

I dont get the attraction...dude only beat Brian Kelly at home by 5 points. He lost 2 out of 3 to Kelly while at USC.
