ESPN Senior Draft Analyst Mel Kiper released his latest Mock Draft 4.0, with LSU left tackle Will Campbell making a big jump up the board.

Previous mock drafts have had Campbell as a fringe Top-10 pick, but Kiper projects him to go No. 4 overall to the New England Patriots. Per On3:
quote:

4. New England Patriots: Will Campbell, OT – LSU

The Patriots definitely need a franchise tackle to protect Drake Maye. New England has beefed up in free agency, but they need a long term plan at one of the most important positions.

Kiper isn’t worried about Campbell’s shorter arms compared to other tackles. He’ll be an instant starter in New England.

He has the best stats of any LT in college and they are worried about 3/4 of an inch

These expert analyst also said Drew Brees had hands that were to small and that he was too short. Campbell is going to be one of the great ones before he is done.

This short arm shitcrap is noise created by teams who hope he'd fall down the board all the way to them.

They act like he’s a TRex or something. Will dominated the best the SEC had to offer and I never remember ever hearing someone say “Well if his arms were 0.8 inches longer”. WC will be a an All Pro ala Whitworth.

Every year some kind of b.s. comes up. This one is one of the best yet. R.S.A. score, top 15 out of 1500 tackles tested in over 20 years or so.
Plus instant starter since freshmen year.

NFL average arm length:
OL - 33.56inches
DL - 33.18inches

Will Campbell - 32.625

I think he'll be just fine.

Technique, strength, agility and smarts can easily make up for slightly shorter arms.

So it's about just a finger tip of difference. Crazy how big of an issue they made this.

He will fall as far as his arms are short, UDFA and practice squad. Long armed D-linemen will eat him alive.

Right because he’s never faced any long armed DL in his 4 years as a starting LT in the SEC. Im sure the SEC doesn’t produce any good DL in the NFL. Clown!!

So, due to all your years of coaching OL in the NFL you were aware of this concern before it was reported about Campbell?

Look at your arm. Add in inch. See the ridiculous advantage you would have with that inch.

If I get to add an inch to anything it won’t be my arm
