WAFB reports that LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested Monday night in New Orleans on a weapons charge.
quote:

Nabers was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail early Tuesday morning on a charge of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, jail records show.

Records show Nabers was released late Tuesday morning on his own recognizance, meaning he was not required to post bond.

The arrest happened around 9 p.m. Monday evening but was not booked into the jail until just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, records show.

The LSU Athletics Department is aware of the arrest but was working to gather more details before releasing a statement, a source familiar with the matter told WAFB.
Nabers, a sophomore from Youngsville, La., caught 72 passes for 1017 yards and three touchdowns this past season.

You gotta be crazy if you are not packing in NOLA!

He’s 19 so I’m assuming he was in possession of a handgun. Which also goes back to an OT thread, it’s also illegal to conceal without a permit even if you are over 21.

Here's a better idea don't go to New Orleans on Mardi Gras.
You are sitting on a million dollar meal ticket. Just stay home and stfu

Man, if you get arrested in New Orleans during Mardi Gras at 9 PM and don’t get out until late the next morning….that’s a hell of a long night of suck!

If Louisiana had constitutional carry like some other states do, this would have not resulted in legal issues for the player.

Louisiana has it regardless of what usurping State Legislatures tell you. You don’t need permission from the State to enjoy your constitutional rights.

It's a dumb rule that you can't carry a gun on a parade route. As long as he was being responsible I see nothing wrong. My guess is he was doing something stupid though for a cop to see he was carrying

Somebody posted the other day that the wording of the decree is not that you can’t carry on a parade route, it’s that you cannot carry on the parade route with the intent to do harm.
