Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reports that LSU is in the process of hiring former Miami (FL) defensive coordinator Lance Guidry to Brian Kelly's defensive staff.

Wilson Alexander of The Advocate has stated that Guidry would be an analyst on Kelly's staff.

Guidry, a native of Welsh, La., spent the past two seasons as Miami's DC and was the head coach at McNeese State from 2016–2018. He has also served as DC at Marshall, Southeastern Louisiana, and Western Kentucky.

What is the benefit of this hire? Honest question. Is it some kind of favor to get him closer to home and benefit from some secret recruiting block that he specializes in? I’m not for or against it, I guess I’m just asking why now?

Just because he's his step dad doesn't mean he's a bad dude, clearly Jansen was an idiot

He cost Miami a spot in the playoffs. All he needed to do was field an average defense and they would’ve been in

Didn't their defense lose a couple of games for them this year?

I have no problem stacking a former DC of a major school in as an analyst. Welcome home, coach!

Why? BB will do a fine job with the talent coming in for 2025' season. Just adds more confusion, BB will have final say though. I see no reason for this hire.
