Pro Football Focus writer Max Chadwick released his Way-Too-Early Top-25 for the 2026 season and ranked LSU at No. 11.

The Tigers were the 4th highest SEC team, behind Texas (No. 2), Georgia (No. 6), and Ole Miss (No. 9).

Oregon toped to the list at No. 1.

Here's what PFF had to say about the Tigers:

11. LSU Tigers (2025 Record: 7-6, Lost Texas Bowl)
Let the Lane Kiffin era begin. LSU poached the former Ole Miss coach right before the Rebels’ playoff run in the biggest hire of the coaching carousel. He immediately got to work building up the Tigers’ roster, signing one of the nation’s best transfer portal classes. The star of it is quarterback Sam Leavitt, who’s a top-10 signal-caller in the sport.

That's a lot of faith in Ole Miss considering they'll be starting from scratch with their offensive coaching staff.....

Preseason rankings are almost never the way things play out. Solely for fan entertainment in the off-season.

Ranking Ole Miss that high is just a middle finger at Kiffin and LSU for how the hiring was handled. Ole Miss is heading back to fighting to be in the top 25.

I think Kiffin left enough in place for Ole Miss to be good another year, especially if Chambliss is back. You'll see the real falloff over the following couple of seasons, as Kiffin's foundation at Ole Miss departs.

LSU will have a better record than Ole Miss at the end of the season, book it!

I guess everyone is assuming Ole Miss will have Chambliss? Am I missing something because it seems far from a sure thing.

Many Many Many assumptions all the way around on these. Simply for your entertainment, pondering, pleasure, and or anger. LOL
