LSU quarterback Michael Van Buren spoke with reporters after practice on Tuesday and made it clear that he wants to stay with the Tigers next season.

Van Buren transferred to LSU from Mississippi State last December and made his first start for the Tigers last weekend in the 23-22 win over Arkansas.

With LSU set to hire a new coach to replace Brian Kelly, Van Buren says he sees his future in Baton Rouge, regardless of who is hired.

"I love it here in Baton Rouge," Van Buren said. "I love the place, I love Tiger Stadium. I just love everything. Everything about this place is where I want to be."

"The people in this building, my teammates, the relationships I've built since I've been here, that's the main thing."

If Kiffin turned that Chablis kid into a solid qb, I imagine he could do the same here.

Michael is the man now. He is the starter and will be going into the 2026 season also, I would predict.

A lot of people talk about this kids accuracy, but I think completing 68% of his passes for 222 yards, and a TD and most important, no turnovers. For his first start I Tiger Stadium with the weight of the program on his shoulders, all that pressure and with a new HC, I think the kid did really well.

I like this kid. If he can improve his accuracy, with the right coaching he could be very good.

We are lucky to have MVB, he is a true LSU TIGER in his heart. Nothing but success for this Tiger.

I like this guy. Way to handle it and I believe he is sincere. If he thinks Lane is coming here, it could really benefit him, unless Lane brings Chambliss or finds a hot QB in the portal.

IMO We need to get a QB in this class. MVB looks great but we need some backup.
user avatar
Ya think. We thin at QB right now

I’m a team player? Can’t be selfish in this game? Says the guy that left Mississippi State after last season?
