re: Brian Kelly Press Conference (Florida Game).12pm CT. Tidbits Inside. Will we get answers?

Outside chance? Why even write such a ludicrous statement? And who cares what he has to say about next game or next year. Spare me the self flagellation? Spare me more bullshite. Lsu needs to cut their losses here and move on, yeah, they made a big mistake, hiring a 60 year old who couldn't bring a national championship to the most pronounce football program in the USA. Yeah, it's embarrassing but there's no championship coming with Kelly. He said by year 3 they would be challenging for a championship? What part of Saturday's game would make anyone believe that crap now?

End of next year. Lsu either gets in the 12-team playoff next year or Kelly's out. It's a lot of money but that's the world of big-time college sports today. I wouldn't discount it happening the end of this year if they lose 2 of the 3 games left, and that's very possible. This is a very bad team. It wasn't a secret how bad the defense would be, yet Kelly could have done much better with the portal to fill gapping holes.

Disagree, Nuss unforced errors can be fixed, better scheme could help the run production. It's the defense which got exposed with the A&M option qb. SC qb16 was out in the second half or Lsu would have lost that game. Look, much of that defense are the same guys that were the worst in Lsu history, now without Perkins.

Probably so, we talk of the poor offensive play calling, yes horrible, the poor decisions by Nuss in the 2nd half, the poor defense against the option but the bottom line is this, Lsu is not getting the kind of talent that Geo and Ala have gotten for a few years now. Next year's class looks like a good one, and we'll need more years of that to be "elite." For now, we're an average team in the SEC.

Yep, they are who we thought they were, a 6-1 team that could have easily been a 4-3.. The chances of this team beating Bama, not likely. the unimaginative offense that couldn't come up with a better run game than hand it off up the middle leaving Nuss in 3rd and long all night. Yeah Nuss made bad throws in the second half. But it's the defense stupid, gone are days when Lsu had high draft picks littered throughout the defense, this team has none. Lsu won't be able to stop Bama, a 4 game run is not likely. Bowl game? Who gives a shite, we can't even make a 12-game playoff, sad.

exactly
NFL (National Field-goal League) Field Goals are ruining the game
Posted by slowburn on 10/6/24 at 4:37 pm
It's way past time for the NFL (National Field Goal League) to do something about the field goal. Another week of ho-hum 50-plus field goals. They not only are the most boring of plays but they rob the league of many great plays, the 4th down possession play. The first fix has to narrow the goal post. Fifty (50) plus field goals are commonplace, by narrowing the post would create more 4th down possession plays and inject more excitement instead of robbing fans of the passion for tackle football. They are there to see tackle football, not soccer. Another of my gripes is the plethora of game winning field-goals. Because of the ease which produce 3 points by field goal, many games are won by the field goal in the last minutes, this needs to end. Last year, there was one week where there were five (5) game-winning field goals. Think of that, a tackle football game won on a soccer play? This is ludicrous. At some point in time, maybe the 2-minute warning, field goals should be forbidden. A touchdown produced by tackle football should be only play to win or lose a football game. Soccer should never win or lose a tackle football game.
re: Has Ryan Clark’s new logo been discussed here?
Posted by slowburn on 10/5/24 at 10:28 am
Ryan Clark is on quite the ego trip wearing his own RC insignia. Even the most self-absorbed and buffoonishTrump doesn't have a DT on his suits. At first, I didn't believe what I just saw. Just seems rather odd and I'll give him credit for his football analysis and winning an Emmy, but his calling Sean Payton a thug? A term especially offensive to the black community when hurled in general terms by whites towards blacks. My advice to RC, lighten up dude, it's a sport, a game. I'm good with your colorful outfits and analysis, but lose the RC, it's embarrassing.
re: Call me crazy, but I am starting to smell playoffs with this team.

Lsu will need more Durham-types to emerge on defense if they are to make the 12-team playoff.
re: Mac Markway transferring to Nebraska
Posted by slowburn on 8/27/24 at 3:16 pm
Nebraska, damn, there was a day Lsu played second fiddle to Big Red. Not so anymore, we have (3) future pros at tight end, giving Nebraska our leftover 4th. Not to diminish Markway , he showed good production last year.
re: Jeff Landry Triple Dog Dare
Posted by slowburn on 4/9/24 at 11:44 am
Landry is going to do something to piss off blacks from not going to LSU to play ball. Bottom line, no one has to stand, sing, or whistle for the national anthem, period. Leave it alone Landry, you don't know what you're doing and you never will, cause you're an ignoramus
re: Jeff Landry Triple Dog Dare

Kills me how these Trump wannabes can be so stupid. No one wins on the anthem issue, if people don't want to sign, stand, or listen, they don't have to, period. I know you can't help it, you wanna send troops to Texas and now the Anthem. Keep it up fool, eventually someone will call your bluff, and you'll be revealed as a national embarrassment.
re: Ryan Clark might be out at ESPN
Posted by slowburn on 2/19/24 at 2:42 pm
Calling Shawn Payton a thug is way overboard. Maybe Payton did something he didn't like but you don't use that term. A term not so endearing to any race. I'm sure ESPN has no interest in keeping him. It's probably as rich as Trump got when he sued the NFL.

More worried about SEC backlash from the Fla st. controversy, where SEC media haters may not vote for Daniels. I wouldn't be surprised.

Prior to ND kicking the winning field goal, Casanova dropped an interception from Theisman in the end zone.

in '73, the game was nationally televised on Thanksgiving night, both were undefeated. McClendon alternated quarterbacks back then, to the chagrin of most fans. After Miley's first series, Broussard was sent in deep in our own territory, then tossed by ball behind the runner, Alabama recovered leading to their first score. Any chance to win that game was lost right then. Miley was a great talent that was wasted, he would not return for his senior year opting to play for the California Angels.

LSU beat Alabama at home 20-15 in '69, again beating them at Birmingham 14-9 in '70. In '71, it was the first year Alabama installed the wishbone, returning to LSU and winning 14-7 on a national televised night game but Casanova did not play. It would take LSU 10 years to beat Alabama 20-10 in '82, with Hilliard & Risher.
