LSU (9-3) wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 42-30 win over Texas A&M at Tiger Stadium.

Bowl game destinations will be announced next Sunday, but all signs point to LSU playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida, on Monday, January 1. The ReliaQuest Bowl is the former Outback Bowl.

As for the opponent, there are three potential options, with Notre Dame as the leading favorite:

Mark Schlabach (ESPN): Notre Dame vs. LSU
Brian Fischer (Fox Sports): Notre Dame vs. LSU
Steven Lassan (Athlon Sports): Notre Dame vs. LSU
Kyle Bonagura (ESPN): Wisconsin vs. LSU
Jerry Palm (CBS): NC State vs. LSU

A victory in a bowl game would give the Tigers back-to-back 10-win seasons in Brian Kelly's second year in Baton Rouge.

How about playing a team rated higher than us like Oklahoma

Sadly, with it no longer being the Outback Bowl I may never go back to that restaurant. I will miss the free blooming onion every January

Bowl games after the new year's 6 bowl games suck because of contract obligations that force unfair matchup mostly blow outs. It should be based on matchup not contract to make bowls interesting.

Almost sounds like a participation award for anyone with a winning season.

Would be cool to see our defense maybe stop some one besides Army

It would be a great matchup. Top offense vs top defense and a offense that cant score vs a defense that cant stop anyone. COuld be best matchup of the year.

If BK tells the team to win this one (ND) for him, I bet almost all of them will play.

LSU should play a one loss Big 10 or Pac 12 team. The beat down by LSU of either would be glorious.

SEC wins another CFP Championship!! Word.

ND won’t happen. LSU powers will block this like they did for Les with Michigan.

I want ND but you already know our star players aren’t going to play

Nabors has already hinted that he wants to go. I think this is a different group and you're likely to see them give it one more ride. Especially if its notre dame.

Chance for 10 wins, JD needs 54 yards for 5000, and Nabers needs 22 for LSU record. I could see them playing. Especially if it was against ND.

Nabors has already stated he's playing in the bowl game because he wants the record. My guess is would want JD5 throwing him the ball, and seeing as JD5 is knocking on the door of 5K, it wouldn't be surprising to see a full team suit up for the bowl game.
