LSU freshman cornerback Jaelyn Davis-Robinson has reportedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Davis-Robinson, a native of Waxahachie, Texas, was a late addition to LSU's 2022 signing class after receiving his offer a week before signing day. He picked the Tigers over Oregon.

The former three-star prospect redshirted this past season.

The mid majors must be licking their chops at the prospect of having so many solid football players available when none of the bigger schools pick them up.

He would be a good pickup for Baylor or OK St.

Why would a redshirt leave before they begin their playing career? Perhaps there is something personal about this decision. Oh well. Good luck to ya.

Because we’re taking a massive step up. Freshman or not, if you are not starting now, there will be little room for you. Sad but true.

They need to change this rule back. It was intended as a temp thing during covid and now it's just college free agency. Sports don't exist to make agents rich.

The portal went in on 2018. Two years before anyone heard of Covid. This was a residual of the ed o’bannon verdict when the govt got involved.

For years the NCAA and coaches refused to allow students to transfer without some type of restrictions, yet coaches under contract were allowed to stick to their contractual obligation by taking oher jobs, thus forcing players to stay behind. Blame the coaches not the students, they are the ones that are to blame.

He leaves after a redshirt season with an already thin cornerback room? Sounds pretty suspicious to me….

This one stings…Kelly spoke highly of him over the summer. Real head scratcher, he was in line for serious playing time.
