LSU coach Les Miles spoke with the media on Tuesday and said that he is cutting off bar access to his football players.

This news comes hours after he released a statement about senior tight end Dillon Gordon who was stabbed at Reggie’s bar in the early hours of Tuesday.

These tiger land bars are the problem, not the players wanting to drink. There should be extra police presence at these bars after dam.

The first rule of "Fight Night Club" is that you don't talk about "Fight Night Club".

Fair or not, with the high profile of being a football player at LSU there is an added responsibility to one's behavior. The players should be aware of that and it is just part of the whole package.

I know I liked going to bars when I was in college. I can see how recruits would hate this even if their parents like it.

I definitely see the wisdom in his decision, no argument there.

But damn. Sucks to be a stud LSU player and not be able to go collect some ploot at a bar.

Charlie Mac had that rule in place back in the day.

According to my friend who played for Miles in his first few years, it was known to the LSU players that at OSU, Miles did this, and the players weren't too happy about it. Turns out he didn't enact that then, but still.

I wonder what the current players think.

@purpleleaf

horrible correlation. miles is not their boss. he's their coach. its in their best interest. If they dont like it, they can go play at some juco where nobody cares.

As someone who has worked with college and high school students, I can tell you that they do not react very well to blanket punishments. For every idiot who does something stupid, there are probably 25 who are responsible and do the right thing, and they won't like being treated like they did something wrong.

If you want to curb these bar incidents, you just say "If you get involved in a bar fight or something similar, then you're done. Gone. I don't care what your story is."

Great reactionary idea. I wish Les well on enforcement.

Will the LSU fans bash Miles like they bashed Jimbo when he did the same thing at FSU?

if they want to be a part of LSU sports they should all be barred from all bars all the time. It may save a few

Themunch- I didn't say I was against the idea, in fact I support it. But you will have coaches at other schools recruit against this. Not many 18-22 year olds are wise enough to know this is in their best interest, especially if it is another step to getting them to the next level.
