Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
During the National Championship on Monday night, it was reported that LSU quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a broken rib after being hit by a Clemson defender.

Burrow joined the Barstool Sports 'Pardon My Take' podcast on Wednesday and revealed that he did not break any ribs but did tear cartilage.

Big Cat: "Did you break your ribs?"

Joe Burrow: "No. I tore some cartilage in my ribs."

If you watch the video of coach O hugging him right after the "point to ring finger" moment, you can see he was grimacing in pain. Nothing was keeping him from winning.

I saw that. O put his hand right where the LB hit Joe, and squeezed. It hurt me, at home.

I tore cartilage in my ribs a few years back. Brutal pain, every time you turn it feels like a knife going in. Joe is one tough SOB.

Still hurts like a mother, I did that and had beautiful Oval helmet sized pattern Of cracked ribs from a helmet to the chest on a kickoff. (Illegal now) It hurt every time I laughed for a month

You could tell he was kinda off after that hit- probably cost him the all-time completion percentage record!

Lol.... He’s learning to play semantics just like a pro. He knows quite well that broken ribs and torn cartilage in ribs are pretty much the same thing

No, they are not "pretty much the same thing". But I grant you Geauxt would have kept playing either way.

It's safe to say that the situation was taken care of and reported. No real scandal to be had here.

He’s such a tough person. I bet he wanted to play it out because our wonderful President was watching him play live at the game. Such a terrific player

Yeah rightwingtiger I would imagine somebody that puts their political views as their name on a message board probably does want to hear something stupid like that. I think what he meant was none of us that are regular ordinary people who are well-adjusted want to hear that.
