With the firing of LSU head coach Brian Kelly on Sunday night and offensive coordinator Joe Sloan on Monday morning, several LSU assistants and offensive analysts have received new roles for the final four games of the season.

The primary play-calling duties will be handed over to LSU tight ends coach/run game coordinator Alex Atkins.

Atkins joined LSU's staff last offseason after four years at Florida State. He joined the Seminoles in 2020 as the team's offensive line coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2022, but was fired in 2024. Atkins was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Charlotte in 2019 before joining Florida State.

Ross Dellenger reports that offensive analyst Tim Rattay will assist Atkins with play-calling and work with the quarterbacks, a role Sloan previously oversaw.

Cortez Hankton is staying on the staff as passing game coordinator and will continue to work with the wide receivers.

Offensive analyst Cordae Hankton will take on a bigger role working with the running backs now that Frank Wilson is the interim head coach.

I just hope Van Buren gets a strong look at quarterback. Pass or fail, he deserves a chance and Nuss' behavior leaves a great deal to be desired.

Why do they totally ignore the Oline coach?

I am interested to see how Atkins calls the next 4 games. I suspect you will see an improvement.

Yall, they wanted Sloan gone. Sure other changes would be welcomed, but BK's "last stand" was going against letting go of Sloan. I want a better OL, but i also want to see the OL under a different playcaller and QB.

The way Nuss is playing, he handcuffed the play caller on plays he can execute, a mobile QB the last 4 games would be much better, let Nuss get ready for NFL draft on sidelines

Why didn’t this happen last year behind a better O-Line he threw for 4400 yds. All the blame can’t be put on Nuss. I think their biggest mistake was playing him the whole game against Tech and Southeastern aggravating his injury. That was just stupid
