On Wednesday, during the weekly SEC teleconference, Drinkwitz was directly asked about his interest in the LSU job. He would dismiss the question completely, instead insisting his focus is on Missouri’s next game.

“Yeah, I’m not gonna make any comments about jobs,” Eli Drinkwitz said. “I’m talking about the Oklahoma game. See my press conference from yesterday about my statement regarding that position. But I appreciate the question.”
Here were Drinkwitz's remarks from his press conference on Tuesday that he referred to:

I'll never understand why reporters even ask about a coaching vacancy. Is anyone expecting a coach to say "They called, and boy I'm excited".
user avatar
LOL! Exactly!

Reporter: "What is your response to your being linked to the Tech-State job?"
Coach: "Yea, I was contacted again, yesterday, and they offered a lot of money, and I secretly met the players behind the interim coaches back, and man, I may take that job next week!"

He'll work for cheap, that's LSU's only priority right now.

It's funny how they never say, "I'm staying here" or "I'll be coaching here next year no exceptions."

Ohio State and Alabama expect to be in the playoffs every year. Football has had an over $1 billion dollar impact and increase on their school’s bottom line and local economy, over the last few years . Why shouldn’t LSU fans and administrators expect the same?

LSU 2019 enrollment was 31,000. 2019 we won the Championship. LSU 2025 enrollment 39,000. $233,000,000 increase in tuition room and board alone.
That increase is not independent of Football. Winning impact bottom lines! Expecting playoff every year is reasonable!

If this happens it would free up next fall for a lot of people. Drink would be a disaster hire. Do not want. Do not need.

Better not be since he recently said, in as many words, expecting playoffs every year is delusional. It's too hard.
