LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is aware of Lanard Fournette's arrest and says "he will be disciplined internally," according to teams spokesman Michael Bonnette.

Lanard, who is the younger brother of former star running back Leonard Fournette, was arrested Monday night after he was allegedly caught gambling with a false ID at L'Auberge Casino in Baton Rouge.

Some people are thugs from birth. I'm sorry but rising to the level of Al Capone crimes at age 18 is too much for me to say 'he dindu nuffin we were all 18 muh lsu football matters". These people represent the flagship university of Louisiana, and are getting essentially paid to go there (and literally getting paid but that's another thread). Purge them and send them to riding the back of a dump truck where they were destined to be anyway if it wasn't for the fact they can run fast with a ball for 60 minutes every week.

Using a fake ID is an "Al Capone level" crime?

Is it too much to ask these athletes to just do the right thing? Come on Lanard you know better. Keep LSU out of negative press.

Take 100 18-22 year olds. Tell them to not go crazy and stay out of trouble. If 90 of them stay clean and don't get caught, you're doing pretty good.

"disciplined internally" That sounds painful. I wonder what that entails?

Really! Cops don't have real crimes to solve?

If the cops are called by the casino for someone breaking the law, you don't want them to show up?

This doesn't seem to be a big deal. I mean I highly doubt he owes some big shot money other than his brother maybe.

Who tried to use a fake ID at a casino? This ain't your local drive-through liquor store where Tawanda is eye-checking IDs. Maybe we should have some frank discussions with our freshmen on what crimes to commit and what not to.

Another perfect example of a kid doing the same shite a lot of others did as a kid difference is they weren't athletes at a flagship program. Needs to be handled within and forgotten about.

While I agree about double standard. This will prepare him for when an NFL team dumps millions into him as an investment. These aren't just kids going to school. The NFL is curious what they're buying. This is a bit overkill IMO though. Just an ID issue.
