LSU head coach Brian Kelly revealed on his radio show Thursday night that edge rusher Gabe Reliford is out for the season with a torn rotator cuff and will have surgery.
Reliford suffered the injury during last week's game against Southeastern Louisiana.
Reliford, a 6-3, 265-pound sophomore from Shreveport, La., played in 13 games last season with one start and has played in every game this season.
He was rotating in at edge rusher this season, with Jack Pyburn, Patrick Payton,
Jimari Butler, and others.
Brian Kelly said Monday that Dylan Carpenter, CJ Jackson, Damien Shanklin, and Kolaj Cobbins could see increased playing time due to Reliford's injury.
