Four-star safety Austin Ausberry from University Lab in Baton Rouge announced Monday that he has committed to Auburn, over LSU, Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Florida.

Ausberry is the son of former LSU player Verge Ausberry who serves as LSU's Executive Deputy Director of Athletics and Executive Director of External Relations for the University.

The 6-1, 200-pound prospect is rated the No. 7 safety in the country and the No. 8 overall player in the state for 2022, according to Rivals.

Hmmm. How much are we paying him to be executive director of External Relations? All the recruits seeing his son go to Auburn instead of LSU is pretty horrible external relations. Just saying.

They probably are sick of being on that campus.

Not only that BUT how much money is pumped into that program for them to use to prep our biggest rivals. If they are sick of that campus, FINE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN THE SEC WEST. FACK!!!

If you want to go out of state to expand your horizons or whatever, get out of the south and go to the North or West. Staying in our damn conference to compete against the school that pays their dad’s salary is ridiculous.

Because bianco doesnt want his kids playing for him

If Bianco doesn't want his kids playing for him - what if in that same light Verge doesn't want his kids participating in an athletic program that he helps administer?

Well good bye. Hey Verge, maybe Auburn needs an Assistant AD who can them pointers on how not to handle Title IX situations. That would be right up your alley. Your Boss, Scott Woodward is busting his arse and got big money behind LSU to get things straightened out. I bet those guys putting up millions of dollars will tell Scott Woodward how much they appreciate the family of an LSU Assistant AD backing sn SEC West rival. Congrats.

If you go to U-high, LSU seems like you’re staying in high school. I understand on some level.

OK fine, but stop prepping kids to play for you main rivals. Go to Ohio State or Clemson or USC or Michigan or anywhere but the damn SEC West.

Have to wonder what pops told him about LSU that made him pick Auburn.
user avatar

I wonder who “pops”and others at LSU have been talking to in the past. I suppose you noticed how tight lipped recruiting has become under Kelly. Scott Woodward is no fool. Neither is Brian Kelly. LSU recruiting is going to be just fine but the blabber-mouths have been silenced.

Cut him out of your will Verge!

Well Verge should go ahead and be happy. You can’t tell me he didn’t know this crap was coming. Both teams went 6-6 in 2021 and his son went to an SEC Rival which LSU is 10-5 against in the last 15 games. Verge knew this schit. Looks like LSU needs to do some house cleaning in the AD’s office while we are rearranging things.

Lot's of understandable comments but things that don't add up.... LSU dad in system, other kids wondering why not going to LSU, prepped AT the LSU school, going to another below par city instead of better places/schools, could legit start or play soon. ALL this doesn't add up to me, I smell a rat.
