It’s back on the horizon…the Trump Recession.

Trump blinked
Under a permit in EBR, the homeowner/DIYer can do any and all the trade work EXCEPT plumbing/sewage. That trade is so tied down that even a call for inspection of completed plumbing work has to come from the plumber.

I did 2 permitted home additions as DIY. Only the slab work and plumbing (see above) was subbed out. As stated previously in this thread, the only issue is a change from original plan. But I just drafted new plan for changed electrical circuits (to fit how I changed it) and got approval. And I did one change in ceiling/roof structure that the framing inspector passed without having to change plan. So in the past, the permitting process was not insurmountable.
100,000 sober fans at Kyle Field. Not so worried. Lol.

Meanwhile, the stock market rallies on this economic news and the Dow reached another record high…

Cummins liquid cooled, NG. They run at lower RPMs and generate less noise. Yes, more upfront cost to purchase (the reason why air-cooled Generacs are so popular), but MUCH more reliable.

re: Everyone freeze your credit

I had signed onto all 3 credit agencies a couple of years ago, with frozen account status. But didn’t stop unauthorized opening of new accounts (BMO Bank, Chime) with stolen identity over the last couple months. So don’t let your alertness level down by depending only on those credit agencies. They don’t prevent all problems.

Wtf? Boomers invented credit card debt!

I'd argue some of the largest impacts on inflation are:
1.) Min wage and other democrat wage/ employee policies
2.) Insurance - policies that are increasing insurance rate (also natural disasters out of any president's control)
3.) Healthcare
4.) Welfare policies
5.) Ukraine funding

In light of the current (but trending down) inflation, under which category do we put covid checks and loans? Welfare policies?

What? Woody Jenkins didn’t make it?
Jeff Landry a political hack? I realized that as soon as he announced the new head of LWF—a young lady from Trump campaign office in South Dakota. She has no professional background in wildlife or fisheries. And then he gave her a raise shortly after the appointment. Crazy as this move today.
Graves has franchises in many different states. As big as an LSU person he is, he can’t be too overtly partial to LSU. Business decision.
Dawn just apologized on behalf of her team

re: VFFSX info for 401k rollover

You could move your IRA over to any investment company’s IRA. But Vanguard is at/near the top of the list of no load/low expense ratio mutual fund companies. Curious who has a legit reason for better rollover alternative than Vanguard?

re: Traveling by Train

The Crescent (Nola to NYC) is the nicest of the 3 Amtrak routes out of NOLa. It uses newer, nicer, different type of passenger cars than the ancient Superliners on the City of New Orleans (to Chicago) and Sunset Ltd (to LA). I’ve parked my car at the NOLa train station without incident, but Slidell is the safer bet. Try it, you’ll like it! I’m taking this train to NYC next week.
