Elite five-star dual-threat quarterback Caleb Williams sure looks great in purple and gold, doesn't he?

Williams is the No. 1 rated dual-threat quarterback for the class of 2021, according to 247 Sports and Rivals. The 6-1, 209-pound prospect from Washington, DC visited LSU during the Texas A&M game this past November.

I'm not a fan of run first guys, but his highlight reel looks pretty good. But for all of you citing Joe, he was never a run first guy.

I am not sure of what a run-first guy means in the SEC. As QBs learn the system they seems to use run as a escape. Cam Newton ???

Joe was about as much of a dual threat as flynn

Joe Burrow was the a dual threat also. Find his running statistics and you will see that. Because we ended up with a few dual threats that were terrible doesn’t mean every dual threat QB is terrible.

I don’t know if all of the previous dual threat qb’s were bad. All of those guys were highly rated and recruited out of high school. And it can’t be coincidence that they all looked bad while playing for us. Chances are they would have looked better if we had a coordinator during that time period that understood modern day football.

"dual-threat quarterback" Every time I see these 3 words at LSU I cringe. Maybe it'll be different this time around.

I like his confidence, he knows JB went from unknown to a legend at LSU. He thinks he can be as good as Joe Burrow or better.

Come on down Caleb ! Were always looking for elite talent to join the team here In Baton Rouge!

Number 9 should be retired. A statue of Joe Burrow should be put up.

Was thinking same thing. Looks good in purple and gold but it won’t be #9

# 9 should continue to be used as such is the STANDARD OF PLAY expected. There will be a statue in time.

No thanks on this kid, and wearing that No.9 is disrespectful.

So I guess you would like to get rid of the number 7 tradition also? That number should be used to recruit elite talent at quarterback.

Its awesome how one great championship team quarterback and an offensive coordinator can change a culture and the minds of kids around the country about what a team will do and can do with their skill set.

How can this guy play? He's only got one leg in that pic.

Everybody needs to chill with the negativity, I mean when was the last time LSU had the interest of a QB of this caliber this early in the process? Probably never, so please people just soak in the fact that the Tigers are generating interest from higher caliber prospects.
user avatar
GeauxsomeMeaux63 months
That’s right! I mean, don’t get all Overly excited yet... but what the problem with the top QB showing interest in LSU?

Dual threat equals no threat. Usually these guys are sub-par passers. I’d prefer a pro-style QB who can read a defense and who makes smart decisions.
