Five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart announced Wednesday that he is signing with USC.

The 6-6, 270-pound pass rusher from New Orleans was originally a class of 2026 prospect but reclassified to 2025 in October and transferred from St. Augustine to Edna Karr.

Stewart chose the Trojans over LSU, Ohio State, and Oregon.

About taxes eating up NIL money:

This could be the best reason for the rest of us to eliminate the state slave tax and get on equal footing with Texas & Florida in this matter when attracting players. Take one for the team, politicians, eliminate the state income/slave tax!

The college football season is about 19 weeks. That's a $105,000.00 dollars per week for Jahkeem Stewart.

He’s going to get his bag and transfer out like most of the talent at SC. Dude hasn’t played football in 2 years

Bye! Joining losers! But, at least you will have spending money! In the future, I recommend you pick wisdom over smarts. Staying at Ohio State would have been SMART for Burrow. He would have been in a winning program. But, he has the WISDOM to make the decision to join a team that became the best in the history of college football. Now, he has a $250 million contract. That’s WISDOM!

Good for him. Does it really matter? The portal is the only way to win these days.,

Recruiting and signing day isn’t THAT significant now. These 5 star free agents are all going to be back up for bid again in just a few months

Idk it’s hard leaving Southern California after moving from Louisiana. Most people, myself included, stay out here for the weather alone not to mention the beach, the women, the opportunities

I’m sure the women are sooo much better than on campus at LSU and Southern. GTFOH

The taxes in California are higher than Louisiana. His NIL money won't go as far.

Was it the bag, maybe it was the game to start the season or maybe it was the weather. Will we ever really know?

I can tell you it wasn't the game to start the season.

I’ll tell you it’s about the money and the SoCal lifestyle. All the glitz and glamour sucks you in and it’s hard to leave. Not to mention the beach, women, celebrities(which I don’t care for but still)

The parents chose usc . Good luck to him . My gut is he’s in the portal this time next year though

I hope not. Hate to see him in an Ole Miss uniform.

I’m sure he’ll be a 1st or 2nd rounder but LSU would have had to pay north of 2M per to get him. That’s ridiculous. Then who’s to say that isn’t just to leverage USC for 2.5
