Rakim Jarrett, a five-star wide receiver from Washington, D.C., has flipped his commitment from LSU to Maryland.

Jarrett was committed to LSU since April but said this week that he was not going to sign early, due to certain rules at his St. John's College High School.

The fact he lied about his ability to sign knowing his intentions is a character flaw that is probably worth passing on seeing the position our receiver corps is in currently.

Exactly. Great point.

We just dodged a bullet and got lucky on this one. Lying late like this is definitely a character flaw and would come back to haunt us. We've learned the advantage of recruiting guys with integrity.

Staying close to home. Nothing wrong with that. Need to learn to be upfront with people however.

He was scared to go too far away from home. Glad he picked no one competitive vs LSU

Have fun going 2-10 and heading to the "leftout bowl" for the next 3 years.

He will start every game and end the season with 4 TDs and 250 yards.

He'll enter the transfer portal in 2 years when he realizes his draft stock in non-existent because he plays for f*cking Maryland.

What a shite football school and he will never win a thing.

Louisiana produces tons of guys who can catch and run all over the field. Losing a lineman hurts a lot more

This is why I don't get too excited about verbal commitments. These are teenage kids who can change their minds on a dime for any reason.

Wants to be “the man” and doesn’t want to compete in this receiving class.

Problem is a guy with that skill set you need a QB to get to your potential. I get wanting to stay home just Odd to say the least this late in the game.

Crabcakes and football — that's what Maryland does! Not so much the football part.

I can't imagine a great wide receiver not wanting to be in this game plan. No way this guy lives up to being a 5 star and he knows it.
