Elite five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley announced on New Year's Eve that he has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU.

The 6-5, 280-pound prospect from Lafayette, La. (Acadiana), had been committed to Aggies since September, giving his verbal pledge to the previous coaching staff. He chose not to sign during the early signing period before the holidays. The final signing day is on Feb. 1.

McKinley is rated the No. 1 overall player from Louisiana and one of the top defensive linemen in the country.

I walked past him at Acadiana High one day. The size is impressive but he was so lean if you would have told be he weighed 245 it would have been believable. The way some of these guys carry that much weight is amazing.
