Evan Stewart, the high school coach of five-star quarterback Arch Manning, spoke with ESPN recently and had great things to say about LSU coach Brian Kelly.

Manning is the No. 1 overall player for the class of 2023 and is being recruited hard by Alabama, Texas, and Georgia. Per The Spun:
quote:

Evan Stewart, Manning’s high school coach, told ESPN this week that Kelly has made a strong impression on the rising star. That impression could be LSU’s winning ticket to landing the elite prospect.

“No coach has come through and made as strong of an impression as Brian Kelly,” Stewart said as he compared him to past LSU coaches, via an ESPN+ story. “He has a humility and authenticity when you meet him. You feel like you’ve known him forever.”

“An LSU offer is the prestigious offer,” Stewart added. “When kids get that offer, it’s very, very special. LSU has the tradition, facilities and recruiting the camaraderie. It’s a very special place.

“It does sell itself. When LSU football is rolling, I don’t think there’s anything as exciting in the state of Louisiana.”
Do you think Arch to LSU could actually happen?

The only way Arch steps foot in BR is if he has to stop and take a piss while driving to Austin.

“'No coach has come through and made as strong of an impression as Brian Kelly,' Stewart said as he compared him to past LSU coaches,..." is a little different than the headline implied. The "as he compared him to past LSU coaches" part is pretty important.

Didn't say he was coming to LSU. Is it so far fetched that HBK made a great impression?

How can we trust the writer when he gets the coaches first name wrong. His name is Nelson, not Evan.

This sounds more like a high school coach jockeying for a future position on CBK’s staff than an inclination Arch is considering LSU.

He’s been Newman’s coach for decades. He’s not looking to move up to the college ranks of LSU

Not going to happen. Period. Kid is so over-hyped anyway. Wish him the best but the unrealistic expectations are going to crush him in the end.

Not coming to LSU in a million years. Frankly, they are hyping him so much, that it will be a distraction for any team he does get on.

They are teasing us. No way a Manning comes to LSU. The want to get LSU's hopes up so they can dash them again.

Getting tired of hearing this over and over. He may not come, but he may as well. It's a new generation of kids.
