That recognition for Coach Brown is long overdue. He will always be the face of LSU basketball to those of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s.

Toss up between Pete Maravich, Shaq, and Chris Jackson of the players I have seen.

Wrong! I had Jazz tickets, Maravich was a scoring machine, but there was no D in Maravich, Shaq was a ATG and your right it's not even close

One more note: imagine how many career points the Pistol would have had if they had the 3 point shot line! Ridiculous...total.

I’m very thankful Coach Dale Brown received this award! Growing up in the 80s in Ky as an LSU fan was not easy, yet I knew no team gave the big blue nation more fits than LSU and its coach, Dale Brown. Coach Brown made me proud to be a Tiger in the bluegrass state. I’ll never forget the 76-41 arse whipping he gave UK in 1987 at Rupp arena. Dale didn’t pull his starters till there was 1 minute left in the game. Loved it!

I am not sure they compare very well. Shaq is a big elite athlete while Pete was a wizard. So really give me both. Can y'all imagine those 2 playing together? Wow, just wow

Ahhh...that was great. I guess we all hope that when it's all said and done that we had some kind of positive impact on somebody.

Brown had as much talent as any coach could dream of a few times and could not win it all.

Okay, then name another basketball coach @ LSU that has won a championship. Two final four appearances, one more than any other coach.
