LSU beating Purdue and Memphis on their home court lead the NCAA to have no other teams playing a regional on their home court.

They remain the only 11 seed to beat the 1, 2, and 3 seeds in their region in the same tournament.

If Nikita Wilson hadn't lost his eligibility for the spring 1986 semester that team wins it all without question. We had no answer for Never nervous Pervis in the semis.

4 teams make the final 4 every year. That’s not making history. Maybe Wade can win something so we can stop celebrating 3/4th place finishes.

Actually, it was history, genius. LSU was the first double digit seed to ever make the Final Four and remains the lowest seed to ever make it that far (along with George Mason who did it 20 years later).
