Simmons didn't even bother to complete a full year of school LMAO! Just more proof that this one and done crap is a charade. NBA needs to adopt MLB's approach and philosophy for declaration and get rid of this one and done mess.

Do you know of a single freshman who intends to declare for the NBA draft who takes the time to finish their bullshite classes and not start prepping for the biggest moment of their young life? It would be a colossal waste of time and effort to continue on with the rest of the semester.

He should have just played overseas instead of going to college. Would have been a better experience for him if he doesnt give a shite about school.

But then you don't become the talk of a town, or hell ESPN, for a year if he does that.

I know I'm probably gonna get my head bit off for this comment but...I wish there was some mechanism for schools to recover the money that was spent on him for his scholarship since he didn't finish school. Unless there already is a mechanism for that.

Yeah there is... you get that scholarship back for the next year.

Isn't is considered a form of fraud to get a student grant and not show up to any classes? If not, it should be. Taking money out of taxpayers' pockets and limiting the ability of other kids to get a college education because he was suppose to be good at basketball.

LSU made money on him in his time he was here through ticket, concession, and merchandise sales at basketball games. Did you not see all the promotions he was featured in and the huge jump in season ticket sales this season?

I don't believe. NCAA basketball needs to take a page from baseball's book and it's either straight out of high school or 2-3 years of college. The way it's setup now isn't fair for the players or the colleges.

He came to LSU to be a basketball player, not a LSU basketball player.

And as long as the system is set up the way it is right now, IMO there isn't anything wrong with that. Yeah it sucks as a fan because you want the players to have the same school pride you have, but with the one and done bull crap going on now it's just the nature of the beast.

JJ, Ben needs you to go with him. Your knowledge of the game could really help him in the NBA.

It sounded like he'd already withdrawn from school unofficially, so now it's official. Cool.

"Do you know of a single freshman who intends to declare for the NBA draft who takes the time to finish their bullshite classes and not start prepping for the biggest moment of their young life?" I was under the impression that many/most players finish out the semester. Otherwise, it's a negative hit on the school's APR, and since most players, you know, actually give a shite about their school, they finish out the semester.
