Matt McMahon landed his first player out of the transfer portal this offseason with Mississippi State center Michael Nwoko committing to LSU on Monday.

Nwoko, a 6’10, 245-pounder from Toronto, Ontario, started in 32 games for the Bulldogs last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 52.5 percent from the field.

Nwoko began his college career at Miami and transferred to Mississippi State after his freshman year last offseason.

After 1 year at LSU he’ll be in the portal again. Nil and the transfer portal have ruined college athletics.

The stats aren't eye popping, but LSU's big situation was awful this season. They desperately need competent bigs other than Reed.
