LSU catcher Brady Neal is reportedly entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to 64Analytics.

His potential departure would mean LSU is not returning any starting catchers from this year's teams.

Freshman Blaise Priester from Denham Springs, La., will likely be LSU's No. 1 catcher next season.

Not terribly surprised by this. His play in the regional was indicative of somebody who had already checked out and was just playing out the string.

Weel ok then. Next man up. I hate the NIL and the Portal. Changed college sports forever. Will never be the same again. GEAUX TIGERS!

I would guess that this has to do with NIL... I know Jones, Kling and Neal were getting bigger NIL commitments and Jones is the only one who produced. Maybe we are moving his piece of the NIL pie to the Arrambide.

I agree with Sarge, next man up. There will be plenty to want this opportunity.

Aw man....I had high hopes for Brady Neal. Wish he would re-think this move and stay on as a Tiger. This is the first departure I'm hearing of that I think hurts us the most.

This is a big loss. Catcher is probably the most important position to have depth at, it was huge to have 3 guys to put behind the plate this year

Well that sucks. Kind of hard to explain too, though don't we have another stud catcher (Hernandez?) transferring in?

This is strange. He would be the starter (a job he’s won the last two years). He is primed to be a leader and take advantage of his money year.

He can't hit.
